Nembrini is good BUT too much fragmentation/price.
Even worse than Neural DSP (who create more and more "artist signature" ... whereas they could make a QuadCortex plugin tomorrow).

Each amp : 140 bucks
15 amps : 2100 bucks

Same with Neural DSP : their model is going down the hill
Each plugin : around 120 bucks
Around 15 packs too

For this price, i can get a Kemper or QuadCortex with TONS of free amps profiles.
Or Fractal Audio with tons of included amps.

Of course, ppl will say "you are not obliged to pay them all".
Sure ... but HOW MANY TIME they will stack 120-140 bucks amps with the SAME technology inside and call them "NEW" ?

On computer, i'm already all THU Rig Player (tons of profiles you can test and pick buy).
Each 50 bucks and lower.

Sure, algos are still better to tweak than profiles.
BUT i'm not going to buy algos TWICE the price (if not 3 times for Nembrini).

THU is only 2 NDSP / Nembrini amp/signature.

 

Yeah i agree, i think the sad part is that everyone is in the business of profiting off the unfortunate (especially insurance and banks)
Most great musicians are young, jobless, broke and barely afford one sim…so that is their target market..
Unless these musicians have credit cards then they can afford to pay off a monthly cortex bill and their rent.

I read that tH-u ik multimedia and Nembrini suck accept for the brownsound sim.

 

There are some good and free amp sims.
Free Amplitube CS contain some ToneX profiles.

About brownsound, THU Rig Player is already close to perfection (ube sag, variac ...)
And ToneX is coming :D

 

About profiles and algos... how STL Tonehub compares to TH-U Rig Player? They say that the amp knobs and gain behaves like the amp profiled on tonehub

 

Th-u rig player? Based on tests someone posted TH-U is no where near anything better or close to stl howard benson, kuassa cream, vermilion and calliburn when it comes to Marshall…maybe other profiles, i do like their boogie.

i cant stand positive greed who screwed over ppl removing the possibility to use au3 on ipad and then forced user to use a cloud to store tones they then stole and used to promote a over priced chinese amp, no enrico and ik multimedia is cashing in on this?

 

You need to disable cab section into Rig Player and use another cab IR.
I use OwnHammer Nebula cabs or regular IRs (OH Revolution).

Most cab captures are BAD.
So when included into a profile ... it is just killing the whole capture.

Especially on "magic mids" amps, like Marshalls, BE100, SLO100 ...
V30 kill them too
Especially BE100, SLO100 ...

G12, M75 ... speakers is a better start point.
Better focused mids

I tested ALL sims ever created.
And can tell you STL is not up to Neural DSP or THU Rig Player level.

The only one i heard nearly up to quality was Will Putney. Don't know why this one only ...
As Tonehub is the same technology than their "artists signatures", it is not up to the same level.

Sound is "muffled" out, it lack that clarity attack you get from NDSP or Rig Player.
So i don't really care about "knob accuracy", because BASE sound is not up to the game.
And i'm not going to dim out gain on a red channel dual recto
That's why static Kemper profiles ruled the world for more than 10 years, until Quad Cortex (Megadeth use QC live gig, as a side note).

My next comparison will be IK ToneX when possible.

Then we subtract 90% from your hourly wage. Don't be so stingy, others work hard too and should be paid reasonably for it.

Not a single one I think, they all fled when they realized they were dealing with pirates.
Mostly a few developers come here when their company has been hacked to cry.

Considering how many holes there are on this subject its doubtful unless your standing next to all the members here.
-developers hack competitors software
-website is public, everyone can read this
-most pirated software is malware, you need to use your password to install
-most pc-mac based systems now scan send your data upon boot, google analytics, oscp, etc etc
Its a hypothetical subject, too much trouble, time…software is cheap now

 

I like the Howard Benson, dont have to be tonehub bs, their best sim is the howard benson both rock and high gain, every reviewer on youtube stated the same and to of recorded their own music with it…look no further
