need to lower 2LUFS to reach target / Lower volume of all tracks Vs lower threshold on maximizer

    if you want to preserve quality, try to avoid limiters and compressors, in your chain or in external chain (like spotify, itunes etc...)
    Make a good mix, if you are not in a loudness war (or making Nu metal) you never need a limiter (only 1 db or so) for online social media , etc . . .
    If you use the limiters, for smash sound, and you want smashed sound . . . do not read this XDDDDD
    But for classical, soft pop, film score, jazz, blues, etc . . .. put the limiter only to catch small peaks.

    Correct. And that is why it is important to distinguish between relative and absolute.
    The suffixes dB and dBFS do not mean the same thing and should not be confused.
