Don't go that road if you're not remarkably hardy and doing that just for EDM. Also your heart's signal has to be like this for music theory because it's arduous::rofl:

If you still insist, try out this book. It also has an accompanied workbook:
    https://www.amazon.com/Concise-Introduction-Harmony-Poundie-Burstein/dp/0393600467

This book qualifies the different conditions as good or poor:

After working a lot with notes, you'd find out you didn't need any book and you've wasted a lot of time and will cry over spilt milk.:bleh:

I´m not going to that generic EDM thing XD, i´m going more for IDM/Experimental, but my parents say that I need to learn music theory or I will not get more synths :´v.

Don't listen to them. They want to kill your creativity. The more you know, the less your creativity would be.

EDM/IDM/Experimental/Techno/Trance/......... don't need anything. Music theory is for virtuosity.

Everything from Hal Leonard is simply great.

There is a youtube guy named Michael New. His channel is probably the best if it comes to Music theory lessons. Just go to the playlist - Chronological order. 2-3 hours of well explained content.

Get your music theory right as early as you can or it'll slow down your growth. Don't listen to people who tell you you can't be creative after you've studied theory. The Complete Idiots Guide to Music Theory is good enough after that go through the Complete Idiots Guide to Music Composition. After you've read these 2 you won't ever really discover anything ground breaking in music theory. You'll just pick up smaller techniques that build up over time. The truth about music theory is its not as complex as it looks or sounds.

My recommendation would be, the Beato Book!
I love that book, very practical and easy to understand, a no-brainer if you ask me!
The cool thing about that offer is, that you get every future revision for free when you buy the digital version(Now At 4.0).
He also makes a lot of bundle discounts(Up To 60%) the last 6 months, but you have to watch out for it, at his YouTube channel(Mostly When He is Live Streaming).
The YouTube Videos he makes are also very good, you're going to get a lot, with the book and the videos in combination....!

    Purchase:
    https://rickbeato.com/collections/books-cds-pdfs

    YouTube:

    Edit:
From what I know, this is the only book, that is targeted at piano and guitar player alike....!?
