apologies, I forgot about that for a few days, I read through the replies. most of your questions can be answered with "severe mental illness" so no work, no accomplices, no escaping the gravity. the character is a dead end. I can't really say anything more without being honest which is incredibly negative and not worth sharing, according to my last therapist anyway. I can't type anything else without losing my temper, it's taken me so long just for this. if im ever working on tunes again I'll be back, in the meantime everyone take care.

 

We gave you the formula macros, we set the setting but you have build it with the pieces you have then upgrade it to the mk2 version when the sequels come out. It would just be a book about the struggles of every music producer and how over time it retards you down to just a midi grid that could barely sequence itself properly daily, then it ends up sounding like a dumptruck maybe, the take away is that they should take more breaks to avoid burnout so their details could take a break to remember themselves less hazy.

 

Don't take it that way. Everything people have said comes for the most part from a place of love. You scenario is too barebones, it needs a place fixed place. There are people all over the world on this forum, you don't rob a store in Honk Kong or London like you rob one in Alabama or Tehran.

Besides, Voltaire made quite a splash with stories of the absurd, there is usable stuff in there.

here is what I would have liked to have said actually- to start with a heist isn't my style. lazy. In my heart I know I'm a better writer than that, so the chapter "acquisition of music gear" is pushed into a later segment. I'm really honing in on the creative challenge of making mundane activities like eating, exercising, cleaning captivating for an audience. as musicians/massage parlor attendees we can all appreciate tension and release, and so I'm doing my best to build a nice big slow burn. it will take a while but if I can master making that interesting the rest of the book will fall into place easier. バイバイ

 

long-winded not creative or fun uopdate to my writing career. a few weeks ago I got on some needed meds that help me think/be able to sleep properly which is nice. sleeping is good, I haven't slept this regularly for 3-4 years now. I'm still working on the basics but I wanted to show off my setup to the forum, I figured people would appreciate the 20 dollar tv+$200 at time of purchase decade old laptop+Sennheiser HD600s. it's like having a badass paint job on a broken car. or a great engine on an otherwise crap car.... whatever.


there is a guy with a bulletproof vest and who looks like hes bummed he missed out on Jan 6 working security at best buy. I should be able to power though finding a job where I dont go crazier now that the med combos are better, and save for some new stuff eventually. in the meantime- since I am crazy and it is my hobby (no ego here I know I suck I just do it for fun and to improve) I've adjusted somewhat successfully the last week or two to making music on this.

the laptop has windows 10 and it sorta works but the Intel graphics isn't supported so some of the plugins won't work if a certain level of directX or something is required. the major problem with it is the same problem as everywhere else in my life, it's me. I own a handful of plugins legit and unfortunately a ton of those are third party nebula libraries which I fucking love. so I've got a slow computer and I'm obsessed with using the most stupid cpu hungry plugins and I use them stupider than most as I'm OCD about making sure all the instances are duplicated for stereo/dual mono. it's a fun puzzle, I do not recommend it as far as being productive or efficient lol. at least reaper is good about organization and such.

i uploaded the experiment I did, a couple days ago I went from a completely dry (very mediocre music wise) synth idea and then sat there and rendered things out one or two set of nebula effects at a time, there are like 100 tracks now for something that started with I think 7. if anyone listens to "throbbing" I would be curious about if it's too harsh (prob), and how the bass works (basslane pro yesssss ❤️ sister). I used like 95% nebula and I should have used a reference track but I didn't so it's kinda like flying blind for me, relying on just myself. as opposed to using like sonible/isotope stuff which I probably should have to check against it. and the song itself is lame it was more to try and go from start to end with something. I like the bass and the keys at the end that's about it, otherwise it was just like trying to polish a turd but that's ok if that's the goal.

I changed it though. i wish I had changed some notes, sounds and mixing decisions too haha but changing things far back in this idiotic method and having to undo and redo layers and layers is not worth it. good training on figuring out your basic arrangement and cementing it before going onto "the fun" stuff or just skipping around like id rather do.

well it was meant to be movie trailer style but yeah overall it's uninspiring to me artistically- it doesn't really make me want to move, sing or make me envision/feel something. I think the arp is so just too bleh- but then again if it was interesting Id still be messing around with it and that wasn't the goal. I made a few other skeleton beats that accomplish those other things so I'll work on those more- and I'll probably redo this cinematic type song with something more intriguing. but keep the bass through reverb idea, play with some distortion and ducking it too maybe.



the only thing that pops into my head is there should be some old dude with a gravely voice saying "THIS SUMMER. IN A WORLD WHERE MAGIC CAN HAPPEN BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES. COMES THE STORY OF AN OVERWEIGHT CHEETAH WITH A DREAM. STARRING JACK BLACK..."

obviously this isn't done or worth sharing (right now it's basically just the scar face theme as temp) beyond that this is basically the same idea something I messed with today but it has more possibilities, I think that one will always be boring to me because it was built around that simple arp pattern I tried to make more exciting
