I've recently tried to install omnisphere, got an iso with STEAM library and the 2.5 version (i read somewhere i had to install that first and then 2.8) after everything i open Omni after reloading it from pasting the response code opens one time I locate the STEAM folder says i doesn't have writing permission, so i close Omni edit permission in STEAM folder (Wich i have on an external hard drive) i come back to open Omni and stays stuck in the startup, every single time, don't really know what do now, please help me wise people of the internet!!!

On version 2.5 it was just a black screen, when i tried to update to 2.8 it was greyish screen and said omnisphere on top, after that i renamed the STEAM folder so it wasn't readable and the grey screen changed and this time it said view on the upper left corner and the omnisphere title wasn't there anymore. Hope it helps

 

it does help. you tried to update a non-working application. Updates usually just make things worse, if anything. Solve getting 2.5 installed correctly. It is your "base". if that is wrong, you are stacking on top of an unstable base. My Omnisphere is legit, so I can't help you with specifics. Try some other stuff people can suggest. If something works, great. You will save some time that way, of course. When all else fails, uninstall all of it. Clean up after it, to find any remnants. Start over and get 2.5 fully working. Run it as standalone first and then close it. Reboot, maybe even wait a few reboots. install your updates.

a black screen for several minutes at the installation is normal.you should wait and give it the time needed. dont break up!
so, i would consider to uninstall and installing completely new. As clone already said, you tried to update a non-working application. Updates usually just make things worse, if anything. Alright, thank you so much, ill try it today, i got to tired mentally to keep working on Omni yesterday XD

 

I heard that it's normal the FIRST time you open Omni, and i could open Omni one time after the auth screen, that's when it said that the STEAM folder was not writable, reopen again and then it gets stucked in the black screen. Is it still normal and i just gotta be patient XD?

 

I-m sure things will brighten up more!
