Dear guys,

I’m new to this forum and just decided to sign up because I dint get any further.

my dilemma starts with the mounting of the discs, as soon as i start the installer (in this case r2r) the install is like a few seconds and done. It seems that the installer doesn’t try to interact with the mounted disc.
Whatever I tried I didn’t get the real install process to work. so I copied the whole steam folder from those discs. After that running the updater. Patched the vst and component file.
Omnisphere opens, I just see all the presets. And those banks I installed. But as soon as i start to click I get an error message that those waveforms don’t work. Try to refresh the source
Browser. Did that same problem. Tried to delete all the zmap files. Same problem it does not appear. I’m lost I also tried to use a different update after that. Didn’t change anything.

I tried the pirate 2.6 Omnisphere as well. Same problem I don’t get it work.
I installed and get it to work in the past for Mac no problem. But this time I don’t find a solution.
So please if someone could tell me what I do wrong. I would be really thankful and preciate everyone in advance.

btw I also checked the other threads in here and tried those routes. Didn’t work neither

 

For Omnisphere on newer Mac's I would just simply use famous Russian torrent site and download Spectrasonics - Omnisphere 2.8 Core Library [STEAM] and Spectrasonics - Omnisphere v2.8.5d AU, VST, VST3, AAX, STANDALONE (macOS) from MORiA, this combo works great and it's easiest way to install, move whole folder to Application Support, run the installer for Omnisphere, done.

 

thanks man, I download them right now, even if the Steam folder you mentioned is for windows. But if you used this method it should work, I guess. On which Mac OS did you get it to work?

I use a Mac Pro 6.1

Make sure to disable write-protection from the STEAM folder with sub-folders if you have installed from DVD isos and then update Normally you only need the last update and STEAM files.

 

STEAM folder is same for both Windows and macOS, installers maybe aren't, but you are downloading extracted and up to date STEAM folder there. I'm using this same thing I mentioned with latest Sonoma inside of latest Bitwig on M1 Air, it should work on Intel too. It worked on Bitwig 4/5 from Monterey and up, didn't encountered any bugs, settings recall every time, resource usage seems fine too, no crashes, good combo, I'm sticking to it even if it's not the newest one, it works. I have been using Omnisphere exclusively (being only instrument for everything) since recently and I'm satisfied so far.

I try it later with this version. Did you also use key scape and trillian? Or does this bring issues with it when I start to bring that in. I let you know as soon as I used your files, thanks I really appreciate it fr.

 

man, it all worked out, I even moved keyscape, trillian and the sonic extension into it. All works beautiful. Thank you so much really

ive installed the standalone for macOs but it cant find the steam folder i put i in Application support and wven when i select it it says Application Support/Spectrasonics is not a valid STEAM folder

 

Select STEAM folder, so MacHD/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM

 

Hi I am struggling with a similar issue. Any suggestions? Do you know how I can uninstall omnisphere completely and retry? Hey brother (or sister), sincerely I'm rocking Omnisphere only (and that older version) and saw your thread earlier, but I don't have any answers, maybe, it's a crazy shot, but you try to fix permissions on whole STEAM folder again, with all sub folders "apply to enclosed items" option.
