    Hey,guys.
I wonder if you can give me advice for a virtual drum machine to install in my laptop and control it via M-Audio Oxygen MIDI controller.
I 'll use it in live situations playing my guitar with another guitarist.
I could use Cubase but I think I won't change the grooves so quickly between the songs we 'll play.
    Any advice welcomed.

you need a MIDI -USB interface. Latency may be an issue.

Alesis SR 16 or 18. Boss DR 880. Zoom RT223 Rhythym Trak.

  5. No latency with midi, or so negligible that it not worthy of disscussion.
Edit: If no sound is being generated in the DAW, that is what I meant to say.

  6. I used to have the Alesis SR 16 in the 90's. I have seen them popping up like daisies in April lately for under 150 bucks on a regular basis. Depending on your genre this might be a good route.

But MIDI controllers send MIDI data through USB cable.

OK, then what is it you are asking? Won't any/all of them work? Get the one that has the sounds you like and the most intuitive (for you) controls.

  13. I have Arturia SparkLE and it works well as a controller. The software makes it easy to create grooves, you can use your own samples and with the sound engine you can create your own drum sounds.
