My technical approach to mixing has changed so I need to know if it's better or not.

Overlapping frequencies.Decide what you want to bring forward and push back other tracks for clarity and less fatigue.
Dial back on the high mid frequencies in mastering if you`re done with the track.

Mastering? O my god, no. It's not my goal.

I'm planning to cut some resonant frequencies first. Using compression on last segment at 12:1 ratio was not enough so I have to use the eq surgically (TDR Nova GE does not catches more than 6 freqs).

P.S.
I'm still shocked after using a 12:1 ratio.

Understood.Otherwise its good, some adjustments here and there and you`ll be fine.

 

You shouldn't get much criticism on mixing this. The world (headroom) is all yours. There are only a few things to focus on handling in this production. Do people like the tone and melodic of the production is the bulk question. I think the production sounds comfortable on the ears for the most part. Tone should be a little more friendly in the upper mids. I recommend sharing a project that has a lot more tracks for feedback that emphasizes your mixing approach though.
