I got a call today for a track that is like Icona Pop...around that Genre. I typically do other genres and today stretched my legs a bit.

Was wondering ... what plugs or Vi's or gear would you guys recommend for programming ... sounds, patterns, loops, etc.

I'm fairly adept at VI's for doing my genre of stuff but this is a different world and looking to invest into some tools that can help.

Typically super pop, electronic/DJ pop, etc. Dr Luke, DJ Tiesto, etc etc...

would love some pointers.

 

Sylenth1, Vanguard, Some piano VST or library, Nicky Romero's KICK, Synth1, Zeta2.

i found Massive last night but it was only a few hundred MB's. There are sounds in there b/c I checked it but am i missing the sample library?

I'll check these others out.

If I had to do country, which Im fairly unfamiliar with, I would first look for a recommended sample cd / construction kit and load some projects in a DAW to see if my current workflow would be sufficient to lay down a project like that..would do a couple of mock up songs with premade loops/phrases to see if I can get close..if so then I would look for instrumentation and the like...

 

Are the Vengeance samples working with Massive or just with Nexus?

I'm using Digital Performer so I might need to access a sampler that can handle EXS24 format...

 

the reason is to be able to easily browse the myriads of files. it makes work flow a bit easier.
