Hello my fellow producers - as per title, Need a honest opinion - i need to step up my game so an advice from anyone on this forum will be greatly appreciated.

This is a song i did some months ago - using some loops from splice and my original synths and drum programs.

I have noticed this female vocal acapella is used by others, surprisingly in the same music Genre :) - heard it After i did the track - honestly.

    Spotify - FULL TRACK

I thought the intro was a bit too long, but when the actual song kicked in, I'd be on the floor if I heard this in a club.

Hi, is this track already released? To be on Spotify don't you already need to have a record label deal or distributor? How did you get your track on Spotify? I'd like to know about this before I comment on the track.

Hey Thankful, there are plenty of services out there that will distribute your music for you to iTunes, Spotify, etc. For example, I know quite a few people who use Distrokid for this purpose and there are tons more if you just do a quick google!

Well the track sounds interesting and the reason I asked about Spotify is, if you have already released it, would you upload newer versions in reactions to advice given here? And are those services legit? There are many places online that will give you thousands of fake Facebook or Soundcloud 'Likes' but they are not legit, and when discovered their accounts are shut down.

These sites are NOT for getting FB/SC likes/plays. These sites take your song and put them on all these different streaming platforms for you. They are legit, but obviously do your own research into each one to make an informed decision.

Also to comment on the track.. for only 1:30 seconds the intro is taking up a 1/3 of the song, so maybe shorten that next time or stretch the track out more, because as soon as i start feeling the beat it's over. It has a groove though and the sounds are nice! Keep working

Thanks - This is called Digital Distribution - and it acts like a record label with out A&R department, that releases your music for free ( Some take a small % from revenues ) or you pay a subscription based fee or one time fee ( 100% revenues after sales are kept ) - as far as i see and experience it is legit and a convenient tool for every artist - the only concern is the music quality - i mean you could release your dogs out of tune acapella on your original track -and still have it released.

If you take a solid dance label for example in comparison - it is the same thing - the only difference is when you get signed - then you are associated and entitled to the labels history, promotion, management, booking and so on - depending on what label can offer.

The only thing is, this distribution services are not placing your track on Beatport ( You need a label there ) other than that - the service that i use - states that my music is live on 100+ streaming platforms.

PS: Yes i can take down the track manually and re-upload it again - but it takes around 3 weeks for it to appear everywhere - and yes, only final tracks should be released this way.

PS2: I released just this song and 2 other remixes just to test the service - and, it works! :)

The intro length is fine, and the track grooves.

I wouldnt use the swoosh clap every single bar, as it makes it "unspecial" also later on there are too many vocals/spoken words around and this did sound quite the chaos for me.
There, the famous quote "less is more" does certainly apply :D

Is there a reason why I can't play it from my Spotify? It gets greyed out when it's in my Liked Songs playlist.

I agree with comments that the intro is too long, other than that its a really good track.

Cool, yeah intro a little long, but that would be easy to fix.
