Being an N4 user I have asked several times for them to implement better midi options.
I just speant some time in Logic X midi mapping knobs from a few instances i have installed.
There are 2 problems here:
- firstly N4 only has a finite number of controls to map - off the top of my head I think it is Mix 1 to Mix 8 and an input and output gain - so if you have a more complicated piece of equipment being emulated it is not possible - please, please, please look at updating this!
- secondly, a lot of 3rd party skin developers use buttons to change between N4 instances in the background - for example for each band of an eq - but there is no obvious way to add midi hooks to these?
The fact that they can add buttons in their GUIs to do this must mean that's possible?
