It's for that kind of thing that they dropped Absynth...

I absolutely hate plugins that offer 1000 functions in 20 cm area ...NI was one of them...I've never used NI

The one and only plugin I used from them was FM8. But with a resolution of 1920 px of nowadays it becomes barely unreadable. I still use it because it is really nice as FM synth, but for me it requires a second monitor with a minor resolution of 1280 px beside my common monitor. It's a pity they will never update it at least to respect the standard resolutions of today, something which would not cost them a lot of money in development. The more the years go by, the more I'm tempted to be done with NI. Anyway I'm 100% sure that in the next two years it will be its turn to be dropped by NI.
When you think about it, with all the plugins that have been dropped by NI in 20 years, this company is a real money pit for their customers, pissing on all the money spent by their customers along the years. And that includes Kontakt with the costs of storing tons of gigabytes of samples. An astronomical aberration in the history of music. NI probably has stock in all the hard drive manufacturers.
A company which in its first ten years developed Reaktor, B4, Pro 5, Pro 52, FM7, Absynth, Traktor, Kontakt, Battery, Pro 53, Vokator, Guitar Rig, Elektrik Piano, Akoustik Piano, Massive, FM8, Monark... and I forget some others...
More than two-thirds to three-quarters have been dropped, and each time without any pre-annoucement to their customers. Each time it is a surprise for the customers, exactly as today with Absynth.
What did they create during the second decade? Nothing.
Many of their really good products based on the synthesis have known years and years without the least update to follow the advancement of the technologies and then suddenly one day they each time announce that they drop one of these products "because it would cost too much money to update it to the state of the art". Ha ha !... What a splendid hypocrisy! Since about 2005 they bet everything almost exclusively on samples around Kontakt and Maschine. Even Massive has gone years without an update, and it's a miracle that Massive X was released not long ago rather than being dropped too.
What do NI create now?... Nothing. They don't even create anything really new on Kontakt. What is actually NI's business today? They only make their money on Maschine and the hardware keyboards, and on samples and... loops! Too bad for them, because meanwhile other developers don't waste their time, create extraordinary new synths that even Massive X can't compete with, update them regularly to react to changing technologies... and don't despise musicians but respect them. All developers make money, that's obvious and human, but at least the other developers respect their customers and don't abandon them as often as NI to replace a whole decade of excellent synths with a future made only of samples... and loops.
    :deep_facepalm:

You know what? I'm sure that in ten years NI will have closed the door. We bet a beer?
