I need to decide among these two, my question is which one of these libraries string section blends well with 8dio Agitato Legato, 8dio Agitato Sordino Strings and Olympus Elements Choir with minimal mixing efforts.I am trying to make an orchestral template on a resource challenged laptop(Core i5 running @5.4 GHZ with only 10GB RAM). I want to step into the world of creating epic game scores and occasionally some emotional romantic pieces. Which libraries are you working with on a resource challenged device?Any tracks made with your template which I could listen to?

I don't know about NI Symphony Essentials, but you may want to know that Amadeus Orchestra was developed by the Sonuscore staff in order to make a library targeted to a scoring program.
They later released as SonusCore (sometimes Big Fish Audio) "The Orchestra" and "The Orchestra Complete" libs.
So as a even more limited PC user The Orchestra is the only orchestral lib I use. Not that I've made serious tracks but it's incredible considering its size and features.

Another thing to consider is that other larger libraries are just larger because they have more mic positions. So if, I making this up but say, Majestica weights 20GB and has 5 mics it'll weight 5GB once slimmed down.
I did it but still liked more Sonuscore Orchestra.

Thanks dear.I find that The Orchestra by Best Service has a bit noisy samples. Is there any way we could strip a bigger library down, delete the microphone position samples or something.I have seen lite versions of big libraries shared somewhere

    Do you mean bad recording?
Yes, I do this a lot because of my old PC. I just commented how to do it here in another thread.

If you really want to jump into epic score, my recomendation is Metropolis Ark 1 and Albion One.
They are essential for really basic to advance composer

They are good scoring tools but perhaps lack the individual instrument patches. What you get is high string and low string patches and no one knows which string instruments will play when you press a key.Or do they have instrument patches as well?

I'm afraid they're way bigger than the OP's computer can handle.

But for me personally it's not really matter what instrument do you play, as long as it's the sound what you looking for. Espesially for epic music, which are not gonna played by real orchestra player.
If you want an individual patches to make the melody stand out and sound sharp, there's a lot plugin that can do for that.

Well, I use 8GB of ram, and it's running well. Actually the most important is your HDD should run fast at least 7200RPM

They (Albion and Metro) both running well on my 2016 old laptop, I use both SSD and HDD. I have no issue at all even if I load a lot of patches.
Please tell me, what issue you experienced?

I'll try out but I am not fond of writing for multi-instrument patches

Symphony Essentials uses little CPU and to start Orchestral composition, these are the ideal libraries.
Instruments open quickly and if they don't you can batch resave the library.
To put your ideas in place quickly, The Orchestra by Best Service or Amadeus Symphonic Orchestra can do the job.
Cinematic Studio Strings, Cinematic Studio Brass and Cinematic Studio Solo Strings offer many possibility for more complex track.
Venice Modern Strings which I don't know why is badly rated, is ideal for romantic pieces. This was the purpose of Fluffy Audio to make something different. With your current configuration, forgot Orchestral Tools and Spitfire Audio for now.
Strezov Sampling Afflatus Chapter I Strings will give you everything you need in one library.

    Good luck bro.

I have to have my orchestra (at least for what I give to publisher) legit. Not because of NI/SF/OT.. it's the environment I work in. At the end I got myself the NI's Symphony series (the "big" thing). Mainly bc of bang for bucks.

As I was upgrading from K12 it was just a couple of hundreds more to get the collectors ed. (on sale). Would probably never pay the full price.. Also AFAIK strings are Audiobro, brass/ww are Soundiron and perc Sonuscore, so NI is more or less a "reseller"..
Well this is important - how you compose your music. If you want to have full control of the orchestra, Albion One (which I also own) and the likes are useless (in fact you get only one patch for strings..;). These libraries are "prearranged", useful for those who don't know much about orchestration or are on a deadline writing cues for film/TV/commercials.

Indeed I use both. Last time i had to program into DAW a real orch score - obviously you must have every instrument separated and, if we are talking NI's offer, I didn't find crotales in "essentials", only in "full". Dead end. So check the instruments/articulations.. Other times if I'd be making let's say a cheesy prepared piano/chamber strings tune, I'd use Albion, Ark, Sonuscore orch. aso..

I would put it this way: either you dictate the library what it SHOULD play.. or, OTOH the library dictates, what it CAN play.

Actually I would have gone with Sonokinetic Da Capo but I missed it on Christmas sale.It seems a nice little package with some legato offerings included as well.
What I am looking at is that Native Instruments usually goes on a sale which means I can get the decent sounding Symphony Essentials for about 250$ ... even though it's missing some articulations and instruments but I can get those at cross grade price later. However on the other hand if I go with the Amadeus Orchestra then I might get very used to it.If I buy other pro libraries later I will need to spend some time with them to familiarize myself how they work.I don't want to waste my time and limited resources.I just want to open a template and start writing. So I am a bit biased towards Symphony Essentials already but I wish if someone could tell me that 8dio String Libraries which I own at the moment blend well in there or not.
    Thanks for the input dear.

Thanks dear but the libraries you mentioned are really big and I am on a computer with very little resources .I like how Cinematic Studio Strings sound and Cinematic Studio Solo Strings sound. You are the first one to comment about Venice Modern Strings, I had never heard of them before.Strezov Sampling Afflatus Chapter I Strings is also 64GB in size last I checked on their website. But I think I should go with Symphony Essentials for the moment
