I upgraded recently to komplete 9 and was sent the boxed product. Problem was there was supposed to be kontakt library discs A - J but i recieved two disc G's and no disc J. There solution after finally getting back to me a week later is for me to download the missing disc. Now this would be fine but due to a rubbish internet connection 7.5GB! is a lot for me to download. I'm talking half a day minimum. Then i cant burn it to a dvd as its too large and il have to install a disc image loader to my music pc which is also something i dont want to do. Crazy. Heres there reply:

'we do not send out and hard copies of installation discs.

Please try downloading the respective file from an other location (e.g. local
    internet coffee, friend's place, etc.).

    Thank you for your understanding.'

Am i the only person that thinks its ridiculous for a major company to send you a defective product and then suggest you go sit in an internet cafe for hours downloading to sort out their problem?

    The world has gone mad!

Odd way of treading a costumer!

I´ve bought soft from NI about 10 years now and never had an issiue with them like what you´ve just experienced!

I dont know if its that at all, but I think there´s a general downturn in the industry as a whole, and they´re trying to keep down expenses - even its a stupid way to save a few bucks!

    On the other hand:
Imagine they´ve send 2560 boxes like your inperfect box to costumers all over the world (wich have happened before for other companies)NI will have a very expensive issiue on their hand!

Still no way to thread a costumer!!! *no*

Yeah, most of these companies regardless of how large are absolutely horrible. For instance, I won't buy anything from Avid ever again because they literally tried scamming me with the iLok system even though it was their defective product, and I had the hard instore receipts and everything. Basically told me that I'd have to pay over half the price of Pro-Tools just for them to send me a new iLok key that worked...

Other companies are simular and anymore you find too many companies that employ the "sell as many as we can before they catch on we suck" So they're not overly worried about repeat customers just selling enough of a product right out to profit.

As for N/I I've had an issue with them also, I had a Service Center that kept de-activation my kontakt, and N/I gave me the run around for about 3 weeks even though it turned out to be an issue on their end...

But yeah, once you bought the product they don't really care, if you want your products you'll come back if not you'll have to suffer buying something else that may be inferior or cost just as much as their product. Either way it's a "screw you" attitude that in all honesty is just them supporting piracy because their company polices are shit.

i guess they mixed up the hard cases and forgot about that disc and im sure you are not the only one.
so NI for sure wants to save money that way, you bought it at the black friday?
if yes i assume you got 50% off means for them you already saved a lot of money.

and this disc image program takes like 30 secs to install and its easy to deinstall, not a big deal at all. (sometimes you have to come a half way to the support :) )

dont be mad at them, im sure they were freaking busy over the black friday sale (stressed and etc).
ive dealt with them in 2011 - got a bunch of questions before i bought some products and the support was fast and friendly in my opinion.

I know its not easy for companies but they will probably lose more money in the long run from customers not returning due to basic problems and attitudes such as this. Maybe they should invest in a bit of quality control.. :)

It is a shame because i do really like most of their products, but my principles will force me to think again when buying from them.

I would certainly be annoyed at the suggestion of downloading 7.5 Gig on my pitiful 1.5 Meg broadband connection. It really would be faster to send another disc, especially if it was a singular file that kept erroring out.

I don't know where you live but in my country - of course - a dealer has to deliver what he was paid for, or you have the right to get your money back.

Only problem is: they could always say the delivery was complete, and you lost the missing piece. Possible solution: Make sure you open every package with a witness as company. *yes*

i had a similar experience with NI when i bought my traktor s4, i installed it on my laptop and then the hard drive went bad in the same week, Dell was very quick to send me a new one without question and while i was at it i upgraded to win 8, but of course i had to reinstall everything, it took and act of god to get traktor software back on, first they said they don't give out multiple licences on a product and i would have to buy the software again, after refusing to buy it again and threatening to return the unit, i had to take a picture of the unit showing serial number and then it still took about a month before they finally got back to me, after much trouble and anguish i finally got it straightened out, but anyway in the process i had lost hope and used a pirated copy thinking they were never going to come through. i tried to register the new traktor software and it wouldnt do it. i had to reformat the hard drive and start all over. In the end it finally worked out but NI lost alot of respect from me in the whole process. I understand that piracy is a major factor in all of this, but come on, if you spend on hardware the software should be free and that includes updates, in my opinion. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be a simple solution to this whole piracy/legit thing.

Piracy = try the product before you buy, if it doesn't work get lots of helpful advice from fellow pirateers if that doesn't solve problems, download something else to try

Legit = buy the product before you try, if it doesn't work, too bad, crappy after sales support, not interested in helping you solve problems or give back your money for a faulty product

Yes it was on the black friday deal which I appreciate but its still not right. I think your always going to get a faster reply before buying a product. The problem here is once they have your money its game over....

I made the decision to stop using warez and support companies putting in the effort to bring us these amazing pieces of software. But native instruments have really let me down.

I have had much better experiences from other developers.

Is it possible to burn a large image to a dvd with a standard dvd writer?

That's why I won't buy Kontakt until they make a downloadable version. In my case it would take some time but I wouldn't be a drama (16Mbps).

I never buy "hard" stuff by ordinary mail. Perhaps I'll buy a second hand one.

I owned kontakt before komplete and your right theres no download available. Which is strange as you can download komplete once you have the serial and thats 12 discs worth. I personally prefer the physical product. One disc is too much for me to download let alone the rest.

Yeah, is incomprehensible the lack of a Kontakt download version when they have a Komplete one. I just don't understand this company.
