I have been trying to get a cracked version of Native Instruments Battery working properly on Windows XP SP3 for ages but I've been having some problems. I installed Battery from ASSIGN's Komplete 8 release in order to get the full library files. Since the install in this version is older not to mention uncracked I then installed ASSIGN's Battery 3.2.3. The problems I am having are these: It works but I am unable to set the path for my library files in the preferences dialog. When I click the icon that should bring up a folder dialog to set the path nothing happens. Obviously this makes it annoying to switch kits quickly. Also when I click on the browser tab in Battery it crashes the host which would make it a pain in the ass to audition different samples (kick drums for example) in the current kit on the fly while a song is playing. The two problems might even be related. I would be greatly appreciative if someone can give me instructions on how they got this version running smoothly. I have searched the net for people having the same issues but haven't found any useful information. I can't be the only one going through this crap. :dunno:

    ?????

If I well understood the troubles encountered by 'Catalyst', it seems to me that they're rather related to the Battery 'User Interface (GUI)', more than purely with the 'audio flow'... as he stipulates that :

    then

    @ Catalyst,

In my opinion and after your comments, the troubles you experienced are purely related to a 'buggy' GUI (Graphic User Interface), as you can't access to its options (by clicking on them) and it even 'crashes' your DAW when you try to make some changes within it.

I think so... *yes* --> 'buggy' GUI (?)

Have you got tried to find an eventual 'ASSiGN v3.2.3 FIX' Version ?
I ask you that because in the past, it happened often that when ASSiGN had released a version that was a bit (or totally !) buggy/unstable,... it also released very often a 'FIX' (fixed) version if applicable... Maybe this may solve your main problem in some way.

Another suggestion could be to trying to find this same version (v3.2.3), but released by another Team, then install it just to see if you still encounter the same troubles. Even if you don't find a different Team's 'Full' version, maybe by simply applying their 'crack' or 'patch' (if applicable) with your previous ASSiGN version, it could 'fix' the problem. This doesn't work every time of course, but sometimes and depending which VSTi, it works !

Thanks for your time trying to help me out with my problem. I really appreciate it. There is definitely something buggy going on with the underlying code. Everything else works fine as far as I know. When I go to File>Options the dialog comes up and in the lower right corner is something called FactoryContentPath and in the box it says //Drive/Path/… with a folder icon to the right. When I click on the folder nothing happens which makes it impossible to set the path. I was hoping that maybe there was a registry key that I could set manually but alas I couldn't find it. Also like I mentioned before the Browser tab makes the application crash in both standalone and when in a host. As far as I know there are no other releases of Battery 3.2.3 by other teams and no fix for PC from ASSiGN. No working crack or patch that I know of either. Doesn't seem to be any hope of them making one since sadly they recently disbanded. It's frustrating the hell out of me and I wonder why other people haven't brought this up in any forums. It's also strange that every other drum VST has been cracked properly but this one which happens to be pretty popular and has been around for quite a long time. If anyone using Battery can shed some light on this it would be really great. I'd at least like to know what the last fully working version is if this one is beyond repair.

    @ Catalyst,

I think that I have good news for you ! *yes*

After searching in my archives, I found an ASSiGN Version 3.2.3(R637) provided in .ISO Format and that sizes ~ 400 MB. I don't know which size has exactly your version, but maybe it could be wise to install and try mine... mainly because as you'll see below in the various snapshots that I done for you to check, the main troubles that you get with your version doesn't exist with this one.
By the way, it's a x86 (32bit) version and launched within FL Studio Producer XXL Bundle v10.0.8 (Team AiR) - this is just for info.

When scrolling the 'Factory Content' Menu --> OK

When searching along the 'Directories Browser' --> OK

When locating or selecting the desired 'Library Path' --> OK

...and finally, all the infos related to this ASSiGN Version : v3.2.3(R367), Full License,... --> OK

As you can see, it seems that this version could solve all the troubles you get with yours. So, if you're interested by install and try this one, just let me know and I'll send it you as soon as possible... *yes*

You have really gone above and beyond trying to help me out and I am really grateful for that. First let me ask you a question. What version of Windows are you using? I am running Windows XP SP3 and maybe this is relevant to the situation or then again maybe not. The version that I downloaded was also 3.2.3 (R637) but it came as a .rar with a .bin and .cue file inside which I mount in Alcohol 120%. I get the same registration information in my about dialog as you did in your screenshots including the license showing as Full. I am more than willing to try your version on the off chance that there is something that is wrong with mine. Let me know how I can get it from you and I will do a test. Either way I really want to thank you man.

    @ Catalyst,

You're right ! I forgot to indicate you this important info... *yes* , but as you had written it in your request that is the version you're using, for me it was assimilated.
I'm also working under Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3

Here you have all you need to know about my Windows version...

About your version that came in .bin & .cue format, it's just a different CD 'image' method than .iso, and I don't think that the difference between both is very relevant in the proper functioning of the application itself...
Nevertheless, your .iso version is ready to be uploaded in the Host of your choice, so just let me know your favorite... and you'll get it ! *yes*
The .rar archive size is of ~ 110 MB (~ 400 MB when uncompressed).

I just thought I'd ask what version of Windows you were using just in case it was a version specific problem. Also I know that .bin is another image format but I pointed it out in case you knew what format ASSiGN utilized in their release. My file not being in the format they used could indicate that it's not an untouched release which would affirm the idea that someone messed up when they built the image. When I get the file I'll try it out and let you know how it went. Please upload to uploaded.to when you get a chance and thank you for helping me out. Greatly appreciated.
