Could someone confirm for me the following:
Listening to classic rock where guitars parts (rhythm or lead) are played twice and panned left and right, I wondered why, when I tried to do the same, I just couldn't get the stereo imaging when using the exact same sound, even with some EQ tricks or whatnot. Well, not in the same, natural way.

I'd never considered that when using the old 24 tracks waaay back, that the tape naturally stretched over time, had wow and flutter and likely led to the amazing stereo image that we all look back on, listen to and enjoy.

Can this same thing be achieved with some of the finer TAPE-SIM plugins that have graced our sister-site over the years? Anyone had experience using Tape-sim vst's for naturalizing doubled guitar parts or other instruments? Vocal choruses even?

    Please & Thanks!
    Martin

In my experience, the best guitar doubler i could find ATM using those variations of pitch and tone was this one. If someone could mention another plugin that can do that thing OP mentioned, i will be happy as well

RC-20, the second module with some flux in stereo mode. Put it on guitars bus.
Honestly there are a lot of tape flutter effects. Even free ones like ChowDSP CHOW Tape Model.
An example would be helpful tho. The original hard-panned recording and what you did with the same files, to figure out what exactly is needed.
