Finally got round to finishing something pretty much. A chilled house number. Mix sounds okay in work van and on my focals. Also okay on my Sennheisers. Interested to know how it translates else where. Cheers

It's nice and u got real restraint, in lots of good ways. I just wish I could stop throwing (math) kitchen sink @ everything!

I think u need to help that clap out a bit. (edit) Even cheesy double hits from time to time? Also hi hat variety & dynamics. Also, maybe more ride or big (real) crash washes from time to time? Throwing a different, smudgier bass in @ last 2 mins would help. It starts to wear a bit thin by then. Kept expecting it to walk & maybe get a bit more funky / slappy @ climax, dunno tho, just opinions.

Can't rly comment on mix, not in studio. My ears aren't good enough, anyway!

Maybe look for something organic to replace (or supplement) the clap, or if you are gonna stick with it, maybe some dynamics (volume) as the song creates & releases tension?

Just noticed u did actually do a few cheesy double hits w/ clap. Oops. I was rly paying attention >__> honest. Probably. And didn't skip ahead. At any point >__> <__<

Anyway, it does still seem a lil bit gated & clicky on 2nd listen. Like v-grooves said, lil bit more organic stuff, maybe & change groove around & lil bit more swing? It's not too fatiguey or anything, just a bit repetitive using those sounds.

Thanks for response people. I'll bare in mind for future tracks. Finished this a while ago and left it on private.

I quite like it but isn't something I'd probably play out if I'm honest so I'm going to take on board advice for other stuff and leave this one where it is.

    Thanks again

Drums are a little too loud. I had to increase the volume the hear the actual music.

Yeah would probably agree with that listening back. It's very slight for me but I think you're right.
