No problem man, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing part of what makes you tick. Yeah I love the dark grittiness of the genre, it really speaks to me and the subject matter I can certainly relate to…a lot. It's not afraid to push boundaries and actually that band Diskonnekted had a video early in their career called Industrial Needs Revolution which is a play on Industrial Revolution but man with those three words they undertook that fucking journey and boy did they succeed. In such a big way too because originally Industrial artists eschewed rock and opted to follow punk instead. So that was a big accomplishment that made a statement that we're beyond ANY kind of formula. Industrial has always pushed the envelope and that's why I really connect with it, it's just like me working hard to evolve and just like me they care about the music more than they care about the money or fame. In fact most of these bands won't ever be that famous or see that much money.

Yeah the percussion is sick and it's one of my favorite thing about it, the kicks are larger than life and they implement an intelligent rhythmic framework utilizing noise like masters. For example Front Line Assembly are really amazing at what they do and they had an awesome interview in Sound On Sound magazine where they talk about their sound and how everything you hear is layered whether it be drums, bass or leads. This band was actually founded by one of the ex-members of Skinny Puppy and he left because of artistic differences early in the band's career. I'm sure glad he did because he had a vision of putting his own unique spin on the genre and it rocks. I also love the melodies that are utilized, they're so hypnotic and often after hearing just a snippet I can't get it out of my head for days. Aphex Twin is actually only one guy and he's really diverse and amazing. He covers a lot of different genres in his work and his stuff is always of exceptional quality. Great stuff.

I like Deadmau5 too, I actually posted a video on a thread here that was his first big hit with Kaskade and the video is really cool and inspirational so I guess I might as well post it here as well. I love The Beatles (that song rocks), Jimi Hendrix and System Of A Down too. Red House was actually my ex-girlfriend's favorite track (should have seen that one coming) and I remember sharing a headset with her blaring Hendrix while we watched the fireworks on the 4th of July on a dock in this cool place on the water. Good times. :(

Really I find life demoralizing most of the time.
I know what you mean though and I get inspired when I'm composing but being that I haven't been doing this as long it can just as easily be an exercise in frustration.

Thanks for the compliment man, I'm really glad you've been enjoying the music. :mates:
