Don't forget that music is an expression of emotion, passion . Art by human being with a deep subconscious which spontaneously balances on the edge of order and chaos , using a set of different languages to manifest a price if art that perfectly captures the deepest emotions and concerns in a split moment of being.
    This is music .

AI is just a smurt calculater ....

    Loved this comment.
To add to that, and also how human plays instruments. You can write music such that no one can play, and the result has much less value.
And I believe this is a good sign because real music will get its value again.

And luckily they sacked that machine from the job after a week day (in L.A.?), so we're safe...lol
edit: Just seen that it went back to work!
Interestingly, BBC reported it was sacked for being too slow, but all US media reported that it was actually too fast for the human workers to keep up with when making the burgers.
They messing with my head, man!

Bah! If AI is gonna do all this, the next big thing will be a singer songwriter and his guitar... AI will never beat the pure raw basic music created by these 2...

But see... the thing is... supposedly.. it can\will...

If AI couldnt do, what we can do, and better... why is there even a discussion?

I'd have to agree with you... however.. who the fook knows whats coming down the pipe.. I reckon..all it takes is one super talented singer\songwiter who is equally talented at programming to replicate and perhaps better himself and the snowball is in motion.

    and evidently.. it already is

and as far as it goes... "modern" music already sounds like its been created by a robot with a tendency to stutter, rise and drop, rinse and repeat.

Just a thought.. as i re-read your post..

    AI = American Idol

Singer songwriter = Alejandro Aranda (Maybe the next big thing)

Those who have been watching the show will... get it. :drunks::hillbilly:

It was never the music itself as it was always intended to be catchy. Its just the way it magically looped over and over until you're a grown ass man complaining about it decades after modern handsets eased the burden a bit... :blues:

The future is looking bright indeed with one less tiresome, messy chore to be done.

I miss the days when producer meant George Martin, Glynn Johns, Bob Clearmountain, Ken Scott, Tony Visconti, Gus Dudgeon, Chris Thomas, Quincy Jones, Nick Launay, Steve Lillywhite.... I was going to include Phil Spector. But we don't talk about him any more do we?

From a physics/acoustics point of view there's no valid distinction between "artificial" versus "real actual music". Both consist of the same building blocks: stacked soundwaves. So both are real. But there is indeed a significant difference between a huge database consisting of patterns, melodies, modes and all sorts of other variables that build the backbone of these self-learning algorithms and humans: taste and style.

In the course of a lifetime, humens listen to a finite set of different songs and styles of music and develop a personal taste for genres and maybe incorporate that into their productions. AI cannot develop a taste from just scanning a huge database of all of humans music, sounds and compositions. If an AI could actually do that it would change it's ontological status from a thing to a being. And then it would be a whole different story... and that's why Elon Musk is really scared by the direction AI is heading to!

I think you're wrong,it's just a matter of time. The computers will make it one day.And they will be better than humans of course!

AI does.It will learn from our different emotions, human logic, sensitivities, all scales chords,etc..With the power and efficiency of the future computers...I'm sure AI will make awesome music in the future, maybe better than Mozart.
