"-You were right, Smith. You were always right. It was inevitable."

All research involving cognitive linguistics and the creation/simulation of neural networks aims at this goal: to create machines that can think in a similar way and absurdly faster than any human being. Not only in the music domain, but many other professions will be replaced by A.I, in the not-too-distant future. It's sad, but it's true! It remains for us to find out what we would do in a world of increasing numbers of unemployed and unoccupied human beings! Thank you for bringing this severe criticism, or who knows, rather, this ontological shock!

It's true only for films scoring.
In that way there is no profit in music industry. All individual people in music industry are a "brand" money maker. A.I can't replace human in live show, people comes in live show for the "brand" that performs real live music not for A.I that play preconfigured loop tracks.

    One word: NEVER.
More words : Idiotic masses will always want to adore, venerate... and be screwed (on backstage or in hotel rooms) by their idiotic idols like those two pseudo-artists.
No one would ever sanctify an artificial "god"... other than our religious ones who're already artificial .

they're ( the music company ) just surfing on a trend.
A.i is not so evolved that some people would like "us" to believe, and we're not here yet.
the next step before we get to see competition between humans and A.i will be when we have really powerful quantic computers, and again, we're not here yet.

all you can read or watch regarding A.i so far is tech companies trying to get more money than they already do ( and trust me, they raise A LOT of money )

Yet another one of those click bait videos with the usual "visit my website to get all the tools you need to step your production game up" marketing schemeā€¦ people really need to be more educated in media competence!

    Hi bro @wasgedn
Yeah, I was actually watching this as it was streamed. Just happened to see it. Decided not to post it here, for a number of reasons really.
We've seen this kind of talk many times, and in other industries. It is sad, but true.
Although, as someone else has said above, an audience will always want to see human beings on-stage, regardless of how a track was 'written'.
As we spoke about in pm's, this industry is no different to any other industry really. Fake food, fake education, fake information.
There is way more to worry about than this!
The fact that GlaxoSmithKline/Beecham/Pfizer entity own over 50% of the education system in the UK should be more of a cause for concern!
Enforcing jabs without parental consent now.
But hey, what do I know?!

Yes, the end of music production " as you know it" is over
    As you know it
Is that which has been passed off as music in last 60 years sure .
But what are we talking about here?
We are talking about how in the last 60 years we had seen a shift to seeing ordinary regular people with no musical knowledge or training or expertise
Playing around, toying around with sounds and recording it .
This is equivalent to say a person with no training or knowledge saying they are a Dr. Because they put a bandaid on someone.
Or a person using a wrench first time saying they a plumber .
This is what we have passed off as music last 60 years.
    Non skilled labour which recordlabels
Said " okay the public is willing spend money on ignorant people playing sounds" great we can take 90 percent give them 5 or 10 percent .
Let public have their " music"
And we can make a whole industry on
Not selling music, no instead selling
A " anyone can rich famous " dream without going school for work yesterday without any knowledge .
    Easy dreams rich famous .
Ooh I can play every chords ding one note for example mins and become famous the record label. Said " oh my God" this so much better than selling music by real musicians who spent 20 years learning training and will refuse conj9vs for fame exchange they cared about
music not threesomes on tour busses bathed in whiskey and lines of dope and shooting needles

    Fast forward 2019
Yes, all non skilled non educated tasks humans used to do is going to be replaced by AI.
If course ,how could it not?
This includes what has passed as music for last 60 years

Music in this case being slang for pipedreams of Fame and self indulgence orgies .
The AI revolution will be just like
    Internet piracy
It will transcend cultural unsound unscientific .

    Intellectual property?
Bah , Napster showed truth zeros and ones are free always has been free always will be free .
    AI?
It's a smarter calculator that can perform these few steps better ( read steps below)

    1. Create a template of 4/4 110bpm, or 90bpmb or 130bpm based in intent of pace feeling.
    2. Steady boom on 1 count click on 3
    3. Select scale CDEFABC
    4. Random punch in scales notes on piano roll .
    5. Shift those notes and layers around until satisfactory sound jumps out
    6. Copy paste into 4 layers of sound and repeat.
    7. Bounce or render sound while maximising rms and peak db levels.

AI can do it hell yeah .

    But
    AI can never
    Replace
    Skilled educated real actual music.

    How do I know?

Because AI can't even replicate the non linearites of a cassette tape or vinyl or high recording console !or guitar amp

    AI cannot deal with fractals
    Unlimited self similar vector resolution.
Real music of the highest skill
Is thousands times higher level than what has been passed off as music recently.
    AI cannot recreate that .

The reason music has seemed like it has lost it's value in last 20 years is because we just attached the word music to garbage

The dream that anyone can be rich famous and have 70 sexual partners a week

Haha. Just looking at the title of the vid, my pedantic self thought "Correct!"
'Music Producers' being the new-gen kids who call themselves 'Producers'! Haha
    'Music', or:
Big difference. Which we can all hear.
They've had 5 minutes believing they are gods, because everyone now has a DAW.
Luckily, I've played my instrument long enough to be sought after.
And really, I always knew I'd make more money from live gigs and studio sessions anyway.
@MMJ2017's post is really spot on, imo.

Its ridic how many networks are going to online music libraries who give music away for 10 - 30 buck nowadays. Massive catalogues which used to be leftover elevator music but seem to have more premium stuff pumped in by non fulltime artists from around the globe. ..kind of butthurt over so many people satisfied with 30 beans which feeds some villages for a year right before I come over with my inflated invoices trying to cover mountain range expenses being propped up by boyhood dreams. But its TOTALLY WORTH IT and wouldn't trade a minute away from having a blast all day in front of my speakers :speaker::speaker:.

I'm a bit less worried about the AI becoming world dominating DJ's though.. They might be able to fart out some pulsing waveforms every now and then but as long as music is needed to provoke emotion at a wide range and quantity then there will always be the demand for artists who can interpret what those emotional complexities, and I know most creative directors wouldn't have as much fun trying to explain their idea of the mood equivalent of the color purple translated into musical form either.

Btw the guy in the vid is preaching doom and gloom to rally his club in a sun-porch that is bigger then any apartment I've lived in..

At least the ACME Muzak, that people always complained about, for elevators, shopping malls and 'phone 'hold' music, was played by real musos! Haha.
I actually downloaded some of that, because the narrow frequency range of the tracks, and the mostly analogue recordings are actually quite cool, imo.
And they're sounding cooler as time goes on...! :wow:

good riddance to all the crap producers out there.......there is such a proliferation of rubbish music content nowadays, in all genres that AI might just help the situation....then all the wannabe producers can go and get real jobs that actually contribute to society.....
