    Hi,
is there any multiband dynamics there which lets you customize the compression curve like
Image Line Maximus, or even better which lets you add points to the curve ?

    Standard:

    with upward:

added points to compressor curve, or even more points ? (mockup, you get the idea,):

but why do need such granularity with a comp?
this isnt an "attack" just curious ;)

Fabfilter MB does not sound at all like Maximus, i have them both and in maximus i just touch a bit the "graphic" lines and some attack and release and i have exactly the sound i want. When trying to replicate the same compression in MB i have to tweak a lot and never got the same result.

did you touch the Ratio, Knee and Lookahead controls/strips?
I believe it can do what you need, it just don't show the visual curve as you'd want to see

I think the OP wants to use it more like a pure Dynamic Range Compressor.

Yeah! Thing is I've been using promb for years, i know how it works and stuff but I think it was last month when I just randomly tried maximus and was super impressed by the results so i spent like 8 hours comparing each other and trying to get the same result. For example, i just open maximus on a regular snare. I just expanse the mids with the curve and adjust attack and release and boom, i got a super powerful and warm snare, then i open pro mb and do exactly the same thing (expansoon, attack and release) and it does sound kinda the same but i notice maximus sounds better or at least i like the result of maximus more.

On their Webpage they claim that there is no VST ?
    https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio/plugins/maximus/

I some cases I experience that I would love to have more control. Or at least try if that improves things or not.

That can do upwards compression ? I dint see that you can edit the compression curve there. ?

I can't stand their GUI for what ever reason

I'm not sure what exactly is meant by 'ATTENTION: NO VST version sold at this time '.

@Moonlight, @No Avenger It means, that you cant buy it, but you can still get the VST version. My guess is that they will discontinue it in the future.

There is a beta forum for VST version of the IL plugins, if there is no new bets they will discontinue it.

Fabfilter really don't have a scalable GUI ? I see that I can make the window bigger but the fonts stay very tiny here. ?!

I meant cant buy, but you still can get the VST version from their page. there is a R2R blessing somewhere, have a look at the sister page.

Yep, looks like the fonts don't scale.

    The keyword is 'sold'.

Ok thanks for this interesting discussion

While maybe not fully to your taste.
the flux Solera/Alchemist might come in handy comp wise

the widest range, for an EQ, for my ear slightly faster (while still sounding musical) Than Fab MB, is
the Hofa IEQ. Its a very Capable compressor and superb Eq.

While i have not tested it extensively
technically the best should be the Weiss kits. the hardware was very Granular!

    for the far out
there is an old kit from now deFunkt Elemental Audio / Robert Nichols RIP
RND Dynam-izer or the old name
    Neodynium byElemental Audio
it is quite magical tool and a head scratcher at first
its not, strictly, a multiband as such but multi volume tool
it separates the program into controllable/actionable volume zones
    might be worth a look

and to kick of a cooler idea would be the diy a solution with
    DDMF Meta
right there another cool tool would the the
RND Finis, its a Peak limiter, but for my ears works like magic in the 3-2db(limit) range
almost like an invisible Clipper (but like shit Over the aforementioned range)

    in the biz of ideas
always pleasure doing biznes with you guys:shalom:

the fabfilter guys are heavy into Graphic Design as one might guess!
Small fonts, that is a typical "Designer illness"
The Integrity of Design/Fonts must be UPHOLD!!!!!
