I just tried moving my Custom VST Folder directly to my C drive because I thought maybe having it on my c:/One Drive was causing crashes. I rescanned in the new location and it didnt find any of the VSTS in my projects. I moved it back to the original location hit alt/ rescan and the plugins are showing up in the browser but its still not linking any of the vsts to my projects it says VST2 not found! Help!

    1. Use Windows Search or search manually for your missing VSTi, VST3, .dll files, etc., and move them back to their correct folders!

    2. If you accidentally deleted the folder, create new ones!

These folders should be created or located:

The VST3 folder is a fixed location and cannot be moved.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

    C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins

    and/or

    C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins

    3. Please uninstall ONE DRIVE it will only cause problems.

I put the folder back where it was located before and now its not finding half of the plugins. I created my own sub folders of DLL files to categorize my plugins on live 10. now it seems like it cant find anything in my custom sub folders. I tried re installing some of the plugins but if the software creates a folder insde that custom vst folder it cant find it like - (custom vst folder)/ Native instruments/ massive.dll/ and if i move the massive.dll into the (custom vst folder) it wont read it. I have no idea whats going on. If i uninstall one drive I am worried I will lose everything because it wont be ablet to find any of my plugins, i just had it on the desktop i didnt ask for this stupid thing I HATE WINDOWS

So I figured it out.. for whatever reason it wont read certain subfolders i had within my custom vst plugins folder so i ahve to move some dlls around. Additionally, it magically renamed some of the plugins so now live cant find them in my old projects. for example Kontakt 8 portable it just changed to kontakt 8 and kontakt 6 portable it changed to kontakt... even though the actual vst3 dll is named kontakt 8 portable... what the hell is going on? is there any way to fix this?.. theres a settings ini folder and i changed Plugin name to Kontakt 8 portable but it didnt change it in the DAW.

I don't understand anything of what you did. In Live preferences you have an option to for VST custom location, just link your VST folder there and you should be good to go. Did you shot your Live when you performed all those movements? or the project was open and you expect it to find VSTs in a new location? It's not gonna work
