Hey guy, just got my M2 interface about a week ago so far not so good. I noticed after about 10 minutes of working on something in ableton that my computer went to bluescreen and over and over again after every restart. I contacted MOTU they gave me an earlier driver to try. This worked with only one episode for a few days until I updated windows 10 and the problem came back. I've tried all the drivers they had nothing is working. I plugged in my old interface and everything was working fine. Anyone know what the problem could be before I return it? Thanks.

I have an M4 and no issues, I wonder if your video card drivers have something to do with it,
do you have an Nvidia card? Also, maybe try a different USB port, I am using the USB c port
with a true USB c cable.

I don't think I even used the usb cable the m2 comes with. it was like barely 1 foot long and really cheap looking. It probably won't fix your problem but it definitely can't hurt trying another.

the first thing I would do is connect it to another computer if you can. install it on there and confirm the device is not defective. if/when it works with another computer, remove both devices, uninstall both and clean up junk files and driver. install the m2 first. confirm that it is working correctly in your editor, daw, whatever else. use it long enough to reboot a few times. then install the older one again.

I've always had problems with Digital Performer which is also made by MOTU. Every time I select Waves SoundGrid ASIO as driver, I get the blue screen as well.

This is Performer on Windows though? Does it only do this with the M2/M4 connected? That is going to be a tough combination of hw/os/software to find many other users with. It's likely not a "legit" install of Performer, which also rules out help from MOTU's fine tech support.

More specifics on the machine running the driver wold be helpful.

Try an other machine see if you can replicate the issue. If it's the interface MOTU is pretty good about just changing things out and getting you working again. My experiences with MOTU have been positive, but I don't use Win(X) as a work environment so I can not speak to anything outside of that.

Would it narrow it down a bit by disconnecting the M2/m4 interface and then try switching the driver just inside Performer? It wouldn't surprise me to see it even be a problem with the actual DAW release, or a programmer at MOTU with a sense of humor about Waves for that matter. There is a such small user base for Performer in non-commercial settings just to start with, and then Windows. This is likely a tall order.

I bought a good usbc to usbc cable because the one provided with the card is very cheap and everything works very well with my travel laptop. Very good interface with its simple monitoring system.
I had a blue screen once. Bad graphic drivers.

Update your windows already! Most of your problems gone in an instant. Most people are correct, its most likely your video card
