MOTU Digital Performer 7 – INSTALLATION hints

Today i've installed MOTU Digital Performer 7.24 with success!
It was very confusing to read all the different instructions given by people,
but the installation is really simple in the end.
I've installed it on a Leopard Mac.
So i now give you my approach Step by Step:


- Download Digital Performer 7.01
- Download the Update 7.24
- Unpacking 7.01 you'll get a disk image called "mdp701.toast".
- Now put this "mdp701.toast" on your desktop
- Click > Show Info
- Under the section "General" you'll see the option to lock a file
- Lock now "mdp701.toast" by selecting "Locked"
- Now open Roxio Toast Titanium
- Mount the file "mdp701.toast"
- You'll see an Icon on your desktop called "Install Digital Performer 7.01
- Install Digital Performer 7.01.app
- Leave Toast Titanium open with the disk image mounted on your desktop
- When the Installation has finished open Digital Performer 7.01
- Type in the Serial Number: DP70-BLAD2-BLADBF
- In the "Name" window type in any name with more than 3 letters
- Digital Performer will start
- Let it run for a while to see how it works....
- Then close Digital Performer
- Now open the Installer "Install Digital Performer 7.24u"
- Let it install version 7.24
- Going to your Applications folder you'll notice 2 versions of Digital Performer
- Check if 7.24 opens
- Let it scan your Plug-Ins folders (takes quite a while!)
- Digital Performer will disable incompatible Plug-Ins automatically
- Eventually you have to mark some units as invalid
- After having successfully validated you have finished the Installation
- Done!

No, it never was such detailed!
All the instructions i've found where imprecise and misleading....
The 7th step on my description was missing in most instructions.

 

Thanks alot for sharing. But i would not use digital performer at all. I think FL Studio to be way less complicated
