    Hi AudioSex Community..its me again

I needed your Advice regarding Reaper
for Audio Engineers and Reaper Users out there...

    1. Would you recommend it if i use it as my DAW for mixing? just like Pro Tools and Cubase..
( i like doing things separate..i use Ableton as my Playground and Wavelab for mastering)

    2. Is it In Par with Cubase or Pro Tools? Whats the Pros and Cons?

I think Reaper is Very Fair
at the Price of $60 Option for those Guys who want a legitimate version but are less Fortunate like me..
but i wonder if it can do the Job i Want

    im giving it an Option..

thanks guys and More Power..

    1. Reaper can definitely handle most task just as well as protools. regarding editing I think that reaper has a very efficient work flow. there is no reason why not to use it for mixing

    2.
pros - I like the workflow in reaper
pros - Rendering audio in reaper is faster than protools . protools does realtime only (i am not(!) sure if this is still the case)
cons - You might run into trouble with exchanging files (stems including vsts and settings etc.) with people having protools (or cubase etc.).

give it a ride and see if it is ok for you.

It is my favorite for mixing, It can handle lots of plugins, It is also skinable. Sub-mixing is easy & sweet. Very flexible busing and sending. Works and looks like big analogue console. Excellent for mixing. Renders fast.

    Opti,Mykal,& Burningstar tells the truth

    Try it
but you have to spend some time with Reaper to really appreciate it

So give it atleast a week.

If you want some help to get you started you can find a video lesson to dl here
    (if you didnĀ“t know that)

S.O.S magazine has a Reaper section where you can find useful tips every month (The only studio mag that has one as far as i know)

You can dl old issues of S.O.S here or read 6 month old lessons on there website

They also have a tested Reaper since v 2 and they have followed up how Reaper has developed over the years.

I think its odd that no other studio mag i.e Computer Music - Future Music - Music Tech etc has discover Reaper yet as it has been around for over 5 years now.

Reaper is the most advanced DAW in terms of routing possibilities,
and few other things as multichannel option etc.

I'm on Cubase but if I could start again I'would choose Reaper.

PLUS Reaper is CPU and HDD most friendly DAW, there are lots
of tests which shows that Reaper can outperform all other DAWs.

I spent 100 hours with Reaper without going back to Ableton (9 years with only Ableton).
I went back to Ableton for about ten minutes. Ciao!!

There is nothing with the level of customization/routing capabilities/speed/adaptability/cpu friendliness and expandability (with scripts) like REAPER.
Of course, with great power comes great responsibility... so depending on your needs, the learning curve may not be light.
    My best spent 60 dolars
