Okay, so I've never encountered this problem before.I recently have been able to get my sound\nThe way I want it. Even distribution of bass and treble and high hats never has happened before in the history of me attempting to mix a master

Now that I have a general understanding of mastering , i'm attempting to mix and master at the same time and it is quite the challenge. But\n That's not the point before. I could never get my mix to sound the way I wanted to I would only master it by making it clear when listening to the levels at 76DB

But that's not actually what I'm trying to focus on talking about, I'm encountering problems while mixing\n I'm using a downloaded beat and\n The bass is very heavy. In this track, the high hat's very smooth. It's very nice and instrumental.Overall.

My problem is when I attempt to add a filter to it.Let's say mixing filter to an insert that the vocals are on and then adding another same type of mixing filter on the second insert, which is the instrumental ....I get Really? Minuscule interruptions of the sound.

Gating.\n Above and then below the instrumental when I match the levels\n I figured the problem would go away when I just lower the instrumental. But then There's still artifacts that get added to the instrumental.

It makes no sense, I guess this is where side chaining is coming in. But I have no idea what side chaining is I mean yeah, it ducks the beat, but it doesn't well, I guess it makes sense. But the problem I'm having, I'm not sure if it's just this instrumental because of the harmonics and the transients, or the\n Filter, I'm using is making things Is making the beat duck or the vocal's duck under the beat or fade out from the beat?

It's really irritating. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this. Does anybody have any ideas of what I could do? Because I'm not sure that simple side chaining will Solve the issue, I thought of side chaining the specific frequency.\n But I haven't had luck with that. Thank you guys for reading.

So I'm thinking of side chaining the specific frequency. Im using parametric EQ 2 in Fl studio 11 , i'm attempting to assign band 4(the mid frequency) to A\n Parametric controller. And have it read the peaks , so basically , it will duck whenever the vocals are active, the beat will duck in the mid range, but it's not working it's not reading levels properly

    Anybody have any ideas,

I think you're just having general mixing issues that will go away as you grind more and more experience. Either way, maybe what you want is Trackspacer or any of the thousands plugins that do more or less the same thing in a different way (Smart:comp3, Neutron Unmask module, SpecCraft sidechain, Soothe2 sidechain, etc etc). However, I do think that while you might luck out and get it fixed with that, the problem could be a lot more fundamental than that.
