Hey guys, I'm fairly new to mixing and it's my first time mixing female singing vocals rather than male rapping vocals, so I could really use some feedback to know what I missed. Thank you :)

I´m playing thru the mono cube, in my opinion this sounds great, mix is great

The only think i can think of is the vocal volume that sometimes falls behind the drums, like it gets too quiet too fast on 2-3 tiny spots for a second when she finishes the line, not sure if you get what i´m saying.. it makes you came closer to the speaker to hear because she kinda pulls away the vocal energy

Ye I had a boost on the top end but was getting harsh frequencies so I toned it down. I guess I'd have to train my ear to identify those frequencies better for future mixes

The vocal should be the center of attention but it keeps hiding.

I agree with what everyone's saying. A little top end boost, maybe throw in an exciter and a little compression to add some presence and youre there

Maybe use a special hardware Emulation Eq that is known for the great top end , maybe the maag Eq or the diamond color Eq by acoustica audio , I thin there are great to make a polished high end without getting to harsh

Eiosis Air is another good one for this kind of thing, kind of like how the Maag eq4 is known for "air" also.
