I've installed Omni 3 on my M1. I copied all my 3rd party libraries from Omni 2 on a PC.
Everything is loading and working, my "projects" also copied except they are empty and none of my ratings on patches copied.

Anyone knows which file that data is saved? Or any tips to solve this?

    Understanding the Issue
It sounds like you've successfully migrated the core sound libraries (patches and soundsources) from Omnisphere 2 on Windows to Omnisphere 3 on your M1 Mac, as everything is loading and functional. However, user-specific data like Projects (custom collections of tagged patches/soundsources) and ratings (star ratings on patches) isn't transferring because this data is stored separately from the main library files. These are part of Omnisphere's "User Tags" system, which is saved in a dedicated settings folder—not in the main STEAM directory where patches and soundsources live.

Omnisphere 3 maintains backward compatibility for this data from version 2, so your existing tags/projects/ratings should carry over once copied correctly. The key is locating and transferring the right folder from your PC to your Mac.

The File/Folder Where This Data Is Saved
The user tags (including Projects, ratings, and other custom metadata like favorites) are stored in a subfolder called User Tags within the Settings Library. The full path structure is:

    • On Windows (Omnisphere 2 PC): C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\User Tags\
    • On Mac (Omnisphere 3 M1): /Users/[YourUsername]/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/User Tags/
    Notes on paths:

    • Windows: ProgramData is hidden by default. In File Explorer, go to View > Show > Hidden items to reveal it.
    • Mac: The Library folder is hidden. In Finder, hold Option while clicking the Go menu > Library, or use Go > Go to Folder and enter ~/Library/Application Support/.
Inside User Tags, you'll find files like .tag_omn (for individual tags/projects) and possibly a Projects subfolder or related metadata files. Copying the entire User Tags folder preserves everything without conflicts.

    Step-by-Step Tips to Fix This
    1. Backup First: Before copying, duplicate the User Tags folder on both machines as a safety net. This data is small (usually <100MB), so it's quick.
    2. Locate and Copy from PC:
      • On your Windows PC, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\.
      • Copy the entire User Tags folder to an external drive or cloud storage (e.g., USB stick or Dropbox).
      • If you don't see the full STEAM folder, ensure Omnisphere 2 is closed and you're viewing hidden files.
    3. Paste to Mac:
      • On your M1 Mac, navigate to /Users/[YourUsername]/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/.
      • Paste the User Tags folder here. If prompted, choose to merge/replace (but since your Mac install is fresh, it should be empty or minimal).
      • Ensure the folder structure matches exactly—Omnisphere is picky about paths.
    4. Refresh in Omnisphere:
      • Launch Omnisphere 3 (standalone or in your DAW).
      • Open the Full Browser (click the browser icon or Multi Browser).
      • In the footer of the Patch or Soundsource Browser, click the Refresh button (circular arrow icon). This rescans the library and loads your tags/projects/ratings.
      • Check the Projects dropdown in the browser—it should now populate with your old projects. Ratings (stars) should appear next to patches when browsing.
    5. Verify and Troubleshoot:
      • Test by loading a rated patch or a project—everything should show as before.
      • If projects still appear empty:
        • Ensure the main library paths match (your 3rd-party libraries are in STEAM\Omnisphere\Patches\User\ and Soundsources\User\). Mismatched paths can make projects "empty."
        • Close/reopen Omnisphere, or restart your Mac.
        • If ratings don't stick, delete any existing (empty) User Tags on Mac before pasting.
      • Cross-platform note: Files are compatible between Windows and Mac, but if you encounter encoding issues (rare), re-rate a few patches on Mac to "rebuild" the tags.
    Additional Tips
    • Full Settings Backup: While you're at it, copy the entire Settings Library folder (STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\) from PC to Mac. This also includes custom user patches (Patches\User\) and multis (Multis\User\), plus other prefs like MIDI mappings. It's a complete user data migration.
    • Omnisphere 3 Specifics: Since you're on v3, this data integrates seamlessly with new features (e.g., expanded browser). No need for a downgrade—just the copy does it.
    • If Issues Persist: Check Spectrasonics' support site (spectrasonics.net/support) or their forums for M1-specific quirks. You can also contact their support with your serial—they're responsive for migrations.
    • Prevention for Future: Always back up Settings Library before big changes like OS migrations.
This should get your workflow back to normal quickly. If you run into errors during the copy (e.g., permission denied on Mac), let me know more details!

Thanks so much! I managed to get my ratings on patches but projects are still empty.
