MIDIMood has released Kameleono, a MIDI Multi-FX Plugin that includes: Arpeggiator, Sequencer, Note Hold, Note Gate, Quantizer Module, Basic Synth, etc.

MIDIMood say Kameleono is a new kind of a live musical instrument. It brings the power of side-chaining to the MIDI world by using your DAW to build patterns and sequencer steps. This enables live performances with accurate timing and unlimited complexity.

You can use it to play (rather than to program) the most high speed and complex modern melodies, bass lines, etc. You can also use it to simulate professional playback of a real instrument such as a Piano, Guitar, etc., as shown in the demo video below.

Kameleono was designed to bring back the fun of making music without compromising on quality.

    Key Features:

    • High Precision Engine (Sample Level Accuracy).
    • Accurate Timing for MIDI Out Recording (Agnostic to DAW's Buffer Settings).
    • Pattern Based Arpeggiator.
    • Polyphonic Sequencer.
    • Unlimited Steps.
    • Unlimited Note Lengths.
    • MIDI Expression Control.
    • Advanced Note Shuffling / Timing.
    • Real Time Quantizer.
    • Enhanced Note Hold.
    • Special Mode for Drums (Note Gate).
    • Build-In Basic Synth.
    • Remote Automation.
    • Integrated Help.
    Price: US $39.

It's always nice to see new developers here.
    Welcome!

BTW, does Kameleono support random rhythm in arpeggios?

    Hello Fiction,

    Thanks for a warm welcome.

Kameleono uses your DAW as a pattern source for its mapping algorithm (Arpeggiator, Sequencer, etc). This way you get maximum flexibility.
For example in Ableton live you can add one random MIDI Effect or more to your "Pattern" track and You'll get as much randomness as you like.

There is a plan to release a lot of tutorials explaining and demonstrating everything about Kameleono. It will take some time.
Meanwhile you can find "The Guitarist" performance source file for Cubase, Ableton Live and Logic Pro X under the "Examples" folder in the demo installer zip file.

Kameleono was updated to version 1.1.3.

    What's new:

    • The Arpeggiator is now a hybrid between Arpeggiator and multiple Sequencers.
    • Notes in any octave acts as Arp keys. (C=Key1, C#=Key2, D=Key3, etc.).
    • The same note on different octaves acts as a Sequencer for that Arp key. This feature can also be used to add "off chord" notes to the side-chain pattern.
    • Kameleono's example folder has been updated. The project file that was used for the "Complex Patterns Made Easy" video was added.

    Dear MIDIMood,

    I just purchased Kameleono.
I use Reaper - 64bit version as my DAW.
    OSX 10.12.6.

I insert Kameleono (the VST version) as first plugin on an instrument Track.
As a second plugin, i insert a Virtual Instrument.
I create a MIDI region on the Track, with a midi chord progression in it.
    I play the MIDI region.
Now i would assume Kameleono would output notes right away, when MAIN is not set to OFF.
But this is not the case for me: i do see the chordprogression notes coming into Kameleono, but there are no notes being outputted by Kameleono..
I am surely must be overseeing something ?
Or am i misunderstanding how it works ?

    Warm Regards.

    Dear Robbie,

Kameleono needs a pattern-in data in order to work in Gate, Arp or Seq modes (When MAIN is not OFF).
By default ch-2 is defined as pattern-in data midi channel.

So you need to add another track that will contain the pattern-in information and route it to the Kameleono track (midi channel 2).
Now add some C3 C#3 D3, etc notes on the pattern-in track.

Please let me know whether it worked for you or not.
If it is still not working I'll prepare a template file for you.

    Best Regards,
    Tal.

On the new version I used a static linkage method on Windows.
Now "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" is no longer needed.

If someone cannot run Kameleono demo on his/her Windows machine,
    Please let me know.

    Thanks.
