I'm working in Studio One 5.2 on my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro Frankenstein Edition with Big Sur.
I'm working on a Bass track with a patch I'm using from Omnisphere 2.83.
I usually just turn the mono/stereo switch to mono after I've processed the bass track and converted it to audio. However this patch has some nice subliminal things going on in the top frequencies I want to preserve in stereo. So I drop Ozone Pro 9 on the bass track and using the EQ, Exciter, Compressor & Maximizer with the EQ & Exciter in Mid/Side mode I achieve the sound I'm looking for. However when I go to monitor my mix in mono the bass is totally canceled out like I hit a phase switch or something which I didn't do any phase switching on anything.
    What am I doing wrong?

It is already in the bass patch : there is a reverse polarity "trick" cancelling in mono.
Witch is a bad sign ...

Take a look with a goniometer with bass alone.
You should see better stereo image.

There is one into Izotope. And there are free ones too.

Thanx I'll look into that. However I just learned that everything I do in Mid/Side mode comes on this bass track canceles the bass track in mono.
I use the Mid/Side trick with two MixTools and a Splitter Tool in Studio One and the track still gets canceled in mono.

Ok through all my efforts I've come to learn so far that when I process this bass track in Mid/Side when playing the complete session or switching the track itself to mono I only hear the Mid section. Is it that the Sides are playing and becoming over powered by the Mid section?

If your bass is collapsing in mono you have pushed the Sides too much and/or messed up the phase of the Mid channel. Bad mono-compatibility nonetheless. Hard to tell without hearing and analyzing the sound. How wide is the sound (how much Sides do you have)? Have you cut the lows on the Sides? What happens if you invert/flip the polarity on L or R and then listen in mono?

Rather the other way around. When the sides are too loud and collapsing in mono, the sound whole bass sound will break together.
When you for instance emphasise the highs on the sides and reduce them in the mids and then switch to mono, all the bright content is gone.
