In the latest chapter of Microsoft's invasion of its customers' privacy it was revealed that Microsoft contractors are listening to select Skype calls and Cortana recordings.Contractors working for Microsoft are listening to personal conversations of Skype users conducted through the app's translation service, according to a cache of internal documents, screenshots, and audio recordings obtained by Motherboard.

Why do you think that all other alternatives are not the same? Even your phone company sells your data to some shitty advertising companies and the government.

Just don't update Windows. If you're not a complete moron you should be safe anyhow even if connected to the internet. Make yourself familiar with the services are running in the background and disable everything that's not needed. You can use proprietary tools to debloat Windows 10. And if you're still worried about privacy, make a Linux partition or even use a separate Linux machine.

Windows updates? Morons? Bro the article is focused on something else. Explain to us how would a Linux partition help Skype users? It does not. Tell us how not updating Windows will help Skype users on Android? It does not. In sum, regardless of whether Skype users are morons or not, your advice is not going to protect the privacy of any of them.

Every time I get pissed at Microsoft, I feel the urge to go on a rant on their Facebook page. As soon as I land there, I get carried away reading other people cuss at the company.

Lucky for me I don't have a mic connected to my workstation.

People in the US use it as much, as people across Europe.

Microsoft is history for me, anyway. We're facing a corporate controlled society, and I don't like it. Sorry I have no time to elaborate on these thoughts. Possibly some of you will get it. Cheers!

Yes, 'breach or invasion' of guaranteed buyer/user privacy, is serious problem and it should be illegal. Lol. Intel management engine (they're in pc's 'for snobs' too, right?)?

Great times for 'behavioural sciences'. Technocratic (petri dish) big data driven global system management.... Utopia, at last - Alas!

Well I guess this 67 yr old musician does that shit, but not from lack of technology skills. I do not use FuckBook, or Face Time, or Twitter, or other current teenage-ish BS programs because I don't trust them. I would rather use Skype because all the drama crap involved with most other social media dreck is ridiculous and invasive. Now that The Pirate has revealed the misgivings of Skype, I will probably never use it again. Thanks Pirate, makes me want to go back to a rotary phone......so much safer. Nothing wrong with being old...and one never gets to be old by being stupid. Just hope you farts are smart enough to make it to Curmudgeon Ville. Dropping mic now!! :guru::headbang::headbang:

Your problem is you live on the internet all the time... get the fuck off the internet... Problem solved.
You expose yourself to it so you deserve what happens to you... just like "don't go into a well-known, crime infested area". Don't act suprised and angry if you get robbed and raped!

True but he also made and continues to make tons of money off of poor people. On top of that let us not forget that by holding most of his shares since the company’s founding, Billy the Kid delayed paying tax on those capital gains. By donating the shares to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that wealth will never be taxed. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffre...-and-best-tax-break-of-all-time/#451bcc392b23. (but also The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has funded major successes worldwide in the fight against a variety of diseases, is one of the largest funders of research projects in economic development in many poor countries around the world, and still has enough money left to be a major force in education reform research and funding.)

    1. Yeah, it's f*ed up
    2. Every company who can does it. Apple, MSoft, Intel, AMD (has the equivalent of Intel backdoor), Android, ... if Linux went mainstream they'd do it too (forced or not). Then we'd have the same debate with Linux vs TrueLinux (or something like that) instead of Windows vs Linux
    3. It's good to be aware but even better get over it, every age has its pros and cons

True. But Trump is worse. He doesn't give anything just clams he does. Let's not get into his Fed Taxes.
