could you please elaborate a bit more about how you've worked with team-viewer and what it allowed you to do regarding these distance collabs ?

(same question with skype) ... I've always been curious to know how far we can develop the team / band work ( such as rehearsals ) on line.

    edit: cool tune btw.

Team viewer allows you to take control of someones PC and hear their sound interface. Also has a great built-in file transfer utility. So, one person can work the DAW and produce the other person while providing, for example, performance and sonic guidance. General mix decisions can be made, but I think those decisions should definitely be off-line critical listening :)

We use skype for voice communication and it's faster voice comms than team viewer.

I want to try Reaper's reaNINJAM plugin next and see if that could be integrated too.

@Amirious We like using Reaper. We tried OHMSTUDIO when it was in beta phase years back. We didn't like it. Maybe I'll fire it up again and try it again.

We still have yet to try the built-in ReaNINJAM plugin in REAPER. That would be a cool option if it does what I think it does.

@bluerover thats cool. but keep in mind that they haven't updated Ninjam for years. It might not work as you think.
BTW Ableton Live has a Max device for network collabo. It's a paid device and it can be used online if you know some networking but the latency is only acceptable if you have a fast internet connection (or if you don't care:bleh:). I don't know how you work but for me, a network latency lower than 40 ms is acceptable and less than 20 ms is perfect because you also have soundcard/MIDI latency and internal buffers to take care of.
