Hi all... I need a help, please: I'm looking for the metallic percussion distorted you can hear at 3:41 or at 5:12 or at 5.33 in this song:

You can here a similarity percussion from 3:39 to 3:41 (rolling) here:

May you help me, please? What kind of preset and/or vst plugin may I use to reproduce this percussion, please?

Thank you in advance, bye all, Platoon

You could try the Arturia V Collection.Their percussive banks have what you are looking for....or close to that.Available on our sister site.

Thank you very much beatroot... In particular, can you tell me what instrument of that collection do you mean?

Yep.Initially I thought Damage too but the modular V2 and the others in the Arturia collection is what I hear in your example videos.Damage has great impacts too ...more cinematic and Epic.Try both and see.

In your examples they are not really similar. First one is a sample of a metallic hit of some kind, and the second one is just synthetic noise made to sound percussive.

You can make similar sounding percussion with DX7/FM8, or perhaps sample and edit some TR-808 noise.

In the end it's not just the sound that's important, it's the way you play it.

Thank you very much SineWave: you're right, but I'll try lot of time to reproduce sounds like that in order to do some "metallic rolling", but without goals; with all your suggests I'll try to do something that likes to me, and I hope may like to as many people as possible.

Thanks to everyone for the contribution, ciao, Platoon

In addition to what everyone here has said...
If you're in Ableton you could use any drum sample with Corpus. Lots of possibilities there. Alternatively, I'm sure there are convolution plug-ins that do similar functions. There's one from Audiothing I think.

A bit of Redux/downsampling can help sometimes too (in addition to the techniques in this thread). Use sparingly, but it gives it a bit of that ringy feel.

Thank you all for your contribution... In this weekend I'll do some experiment and then I'll choose the best solution for me.
