    Счастливое Рождество - Merry Christmas (just in Nominative Case, neutral gender).
    Счастливого Рождества = (Wish you) Merry Christmas. Genitive Case in Russian. Also - с Рождеством Христовым (transliteration - (congratulate you with the) Christ's Birthday, ablative/instrumental case).
    Счастливый Новый год - a Happy New Year (nominative, masculine gender).
    С новым годом! - (wish you) Happy New Year (ablative/instrumental case).

    Russian is a difficult language. 6 cases change the shape of the words of nouns, adjectives also with combination of 3 genders, plurality etc.etc.etc. For us it is very simple.
    As for me, to learn English is very simple, in case of German - very difficult, also genders, cases, articles etc. and they do not match with Russian genders and cases etc.
