You sidechained the entire song way too much. Mix is _not_ done correctly but the song is good

There is nothing in this song that is really "loops" besides some percussion. The vocal was royalty free and has been for years and also with some of the other vocals in the pack. Alot of vocals are free to use which is good, also im not looking to profit off of it which is what they usually worry about. (money wise).

Thanks for the constructed criticism. The thing is with this song as well and they way I layed the notes out is that it sounds like it was sidechained without even sidechaining. Alot of the sidechained parts have automation on it as well that switch the sidechaining from 100% to about 50% it depended on whether the section also had sustained notes or dotted notes. I did think parts sounded hella sidechained and it does sound like that when in reality it was around 40% - 50% sidechain. I also dont know if kickstart 2 has an enormous amount of sidechaining power to it even at levels like 50%.

Yes this would be the case. I dont recommend using loops though for melodies. This is just also personal preference.

It depends on the terms and conditions. Read the fine print before purchasing a product.

I understand all that. I was answering his question about samples, especially ones that have been downloaded but not paid for yet. "Royalty-free" means you do not need to pay additional money per sale, play, or performance of the track using the sample. But you do still have to pay for the sample library they initially came from, to use them at all. Of course, that is for someone trying to do everything on the up-and-up. That being a problem for someone requires a finished track where someone can even ID the sample when they listen to it. Otherwise, how would they even know? Giving stuff away for free doesn't change that. It just means no-one in their right mind would sue someone because there is no money earned by the track worth persuing the issue over.

Calling samples "royalty-free" is a sales and marketing tactic more than anything else. " These samples are so good that you will need to worry about royalties, publishing rights, and what to call your Netflix documentary after you pay for them."
