What “training your voice” really means

When people say “train a voice like Ace Studio,” they usually mean:
You record a bunch of clean, dry vocal takes with known lyrics and notes.
A system learns the timbre (color) and behavior of your voice from those takes.

Later, you input new MIDI/notes + lyrics, and it sings them in “your” voice.
Ace Studio itself does this with a “custom voice” feature: you upload clean recordings aligned with lyrics, and it handles the machine‑learning under the hood. The trained model then keeps your vocal identity but can perform new melodies and text on demand.

What you need to record for training

Whether you use Ace Studio or another singing‑voice cloning service, the fundamentals are the same:
    Recording environment
Quiet room, minimal reflections (duvet/blankets behind you if needed).
Decent mic and interface, 24‑bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz.
No reverb, delay, compression, or mastering on the vocal. Dry, mono track.

    Content

20–40 minutes of usable singing is a good starting target.

    Sing:
Full songs you know well, clearly and on pitch.
Various ranges: low, mid, high; chest voice, head voice, and falsetto.
Different dynamics: soft verses, powerful choruses, sustained notes, staccato lines.
Use written lyrics you can supply as text, since many services need text to align with audio.

Yeah, that's exactly what we mean... sites like Suno, Udio, etc (they're popping up like mushrooms these days).
In fact, if it creates a HipHop or Trap song, it always uses the same drums or 808 sounds, more or less.
Even if you get it to generate 100 HipHop/Trap songs... it'll always revolve around those sounds.

Same thing if you tell it to generate RnB, Pop, or Indie. AI understands that it has to pick different presets (because the style is different) but it'll always use just a few instruments.
You get it to generate 100 RnB songs... it'll always choose from around those same sounds.

I know that I would rather listen to AI generated songs any day over the endless slop of "beats" produced by bedroom "creators/producers" who have "mastered" how to string loops together, taken from music once played by real musicians...
