I don´t know if this is a general experience, but.......
I've not been able to get through more than one and a half episodes of McCartney 3,2,1 even though I'm pretty crazy about Paul McCartney as a composer and musician .......
He's simply too snobby and bloated to listen to when he's interviewed by Rick Rubin.

 

I have more mixed feelings for McCartney than just about any other composer I can think of. His overly self-conscious self-effacement schtick is as annoying as it is cloying. He's also responsible for some of the worst lyrics since the Vogons.

On the other hand, he's written some of the greatest pop songs of all time.

He is, in other words, a total conundrum.
