I noticed recently that when opening up older Maschine projects certain plugins will not load properly, even when they are installed correctly. I get a "The following plugin could not be loaded" error with the listed plugins, even though these plugins are installed properly. In fact, if I create a new project, I can load the same plugins without any issues. I also noticed that on certain older projects, the same plugin will load just fine but on other projects it wont.

I have the distinct feeling that this may have something to do with the updated support for VST3.

One of the added features in Maschine v2.16.0 is VST3 migration. Per the changelog:

ADDED - Support for VST3 migration: Opening a project that contains VST2s should automatically migrate to VST3 instances whilst preserving parameter settings. This feature is available for plug-ins that have added VST3 migration support.

So far Ive tried to uninstalling Maschine, deleting my Maschine preferences file and reinstalling. Ive also removed the VST3 folder in hopes of trying to force the project to load the original VST2 version. Nothing is working.

Although the issue is with several plugins (including some from NI), the main plugin Im having issues with is the latest version of Falcon V2.8.1. This sucks because 90% of my projects contain several instances of Falcon. Ive tried downgrading as far back as v2.5.6 with no luck as well. Ive reached out to UVI in hopes that they can help out, and have sent them a project file for them to test, but havent heard back yet.

Has anyone here run into this issue? If youre running a legit version of Falcon with the latest version of Maschine, are you able to open older projects without the error?
