Maschine Repair - contact sheet's coating
Trying to clean it, i really messed up !!!
I've erased the thin black coating under the sensor sheet (between sensor and contact sheet)
    Fortunately, only partially .....
What can i use to re-paint that surface ?
Is "Caikote 44 of Caig Laboratories" the good product for the job ?

Hard to say. That conductive coating might work but if it doesn't you could potentially make things worse. My personal suggestion would be to contact NI support and explain the situation to them. They may have a simple solution or provide you with steps to have it shipped to them for repairs.

I'd go to local music store instead since it's out of warranty.
Or buy a new sensor sheet from MPCStuff site.
But, if i can do it myself and save some $$$, why not !

N.I. support aint shit. Only thing they do is outsource the request to some 3rd party and you get a automaically generated mail stating something like "the rpair/replacement will cost between x and y", that's all they do. Their biz is selling not fixing/maintaining. I went through it when the USB Port on my Komplete Audio 6 Interface went bad. They wanted 100 Euro for fixing a 50 cent part by a third party somewhere with a turnaround of 2 weeks without a replacement interface for the waiting time. Fuck em big time.

If you have a volt/ohm meter measure the resistance of the coating find an appropriate product which comes close to the same specification.

If the paint layer serves as resistor, it won't do the job just applying a layer of ANY resitance @JMOUTTON, as the thickness of the coating would define the needed resistance. If you apply the layer with a brush, you will hardly find the right layer thickness by chance.

A spare part would be the better choiche as @suefreeman said.

btw.: I would rather think that it is a capacitive layer. Or it's just an isolator. Both are just a guesses.

Looking at it I think @twoheart is right you need a replacement part.

I just thought it was an conductive layer so something like conductive writer which is more of a pen than brush would work it has a resistance of ~0.017 ohm/sq mil per application but looks like it might be more complicated than that.

Is that a printed flexible circuit or just dust, if each pad has independent zones, gestures along with other tricks that rely on tracking motion over those prints than I don't see how it can be fixed well without replacement.

If you will try it, please give some feedback on how it works out for you. My mk3 is ok for now.. but sooner or later...

Here is a video, but the guy already bought a second unit I think. Anyway under the vid someone wrote this:
Robert read my story, i have cheap solution. I had same problem with my maschine, it was already 2 years old, its mean my warranty is gone, i did try open and clear, i did this and problem is not gone, i did try open and clear pad sheets with acetone, after 1 sec i understood don't do it that because half pad frome sheets is gone, when i try use mk3 after 1 pad totally is not worked. And i did try ask NI sell to me new pad sheets they said "we not sell part mk3, you can send your maschine to Germany"-its not good for me. I did try find pad sheets in MPS STAFF shop, but they say (sorry we didt have now this sheets maybe later). AND i did try ask about this in group about electrical staff in russia social network, and they said (looks like graphite, try to use pencil). It was crazy but its really really works. Now all my pads have good sensitivity, i also bought a balloon "graphite 33" like spray for future fix more carefuly then pencil. Thank you bro for your lesson, i have learn new technique finger drumming its very cool, please maybe you can make course about trap-hip-hop style. ))) I hope you will understend my english ))

At 6 min he's talking about mpcstuff dot com solution

    Good luck
