its 50 bucks dude.... Well worth a look if you're a fan of the Infamous Mobb Deep's Havoc!

Honestly I don't care to see anymore expansions from NI. I'd rather they just updated Maschine and actually gave us a decent sequencer lol

Gotta say, I wasn't feeling this expansion :/

Usually NI does a good job of showcasing how an expansion sounds through their audio demos but to me it came off sounding a bit mediocre and I definitely didn't hear anything in it sound wise that I couldn't recreate on my own, even if it does have a high profile producer's name on it.

Custom kits are where it's at.

If you're not into synthesizing your own sounds already, for less then the price of 1 NI expansion you could get all of these.

Superimpose some Drum Lab sounds and make it your own.

    Layered, like nachos.

I would like to be in your situation: being worried by such a futile thing (to stay polite).

    OMG.

The audio demos sounded surprisingly good – what's usually not the case with N.I. trying to go Hip-Hop. But when I first listened, I didn't saw that Havoc actually provided sounds/created the Expansion so that explains it. ;)

It's a pretty good library allthough I agree NI just seem to be throwing one after the other out at the moment. The NI kits some are great especially Halcyon Sky, Pulswerk & Lone forest imo. However there much "better" stuff out there like the twisted tools expansions and like said build & customise your own from whatever you like

Best advice is Don't ask when Groups will "Crack" stuff because that's up to them. I'm sure someone will be working on it  Anyway all it needs I guess is an activator for PC etc should work on MAC as it is I believe

Not meaning to be rude but U have more than anyone can possibly need etc needs right at your fingertips. Are the other 30 odd packs out there not enough?

    Pinkman is totally right.

So many people use machine and just load a few kits from NI packs, press a few buttons & go oh thats cute then look for the next thing to download.

Machine takes quite a bit of time to get to know in depth but it well worth it imo

Best idea as Pinkman said is make your own from some wav samples or whatever and customise them. Machine is a beast and the workflow is amazing. It takes time as said like with Reaktor (which it integrates really well with) but if you persist it's well worth it.

Don't worry about what the groups are doing or post when will this be released and just use all the tons of stuff thats allready there.

I already got blasted for linking warez when I was simply discussing it & trying to help someone.

Best advise Don't ask for keygens (not that u did), Links, when something will be released as no one can tell u that apart from the groups and they don't even know themselves how long something may take.

When it arrives it will arrives & then get blacklisted  No this stuff normally not but anyway

But as said by Pinkman there is much, much more to machine than just the NI expansions all though I admit a select few are very good :mates:

NI has released quite a few hiphop expansions and Prospect Haze is undoubtedly one of if not the best... not just as a hiphop expansion but in general. Part of this is due to the Rawcutz team that did the sound design and you can really hear how much heart and thought went into making it. It really is an incredibly well thought expansion and I think thats what really makes the difference between an expansion you keep coming back to and one that you use once and forget.

The thing about the Queensbridge Story expansion is that the sounds werent actually created by Havoc... they were "curated" and you can see that in the exapnsion's description. To me that basically reads as "NI would like to license your name in order to make it easier to sell this expansion".

That being said, people like expansions for different reasons and at the end of the day its a matter of preference. Personally, I think the expansion sounds lazy... I just dont hear anything in it that I cant either make myself or cant find in any of the other 30+ expansions. I just hope that this doesnt become a trend that NI starts rolling with just to sell more Maschine sounds.

True, true! Prospect Haze has probably the best Drums and Patterns for traditional Hip-Hop of any N.I. Expansion. Sometmes I just throw a Group on and let the drums run to have a backdrop to my sample chopping and then I reprogram the group and replace the drums.

I didn't saw the "curated by Havoc" part, but I also think that he wouldn't actually sit down and pour his formula into an N.I. Expansion and mess with Massive. ;) But the Drums sound like him pretty much. I gotta compare that to his actually Drum Kits he released via Drumbroker.

Overall, I think N.I. stepped their Expansions Quality up since they gave away Massive for free to existing customers so they could include Synth Patches in the Expansions as well. I think it started with the Amplified Funk Expansion from Amp Fiddler, which has some funky ass basses and leads that sound more analog and 80s funk-ish than anything I've heard coming out of massive. Gotto go back to study some of these patches.

Yeah, that's one of the nicest things about some of these expansions... being able to look at the way the kits are set up as well as how some of the sounds are formatted has definitely been an eye opener.
