I bought a Maschine MKII a little while back. I had it up and running without any problems.
Recently, I installed an update to Maschine3, but it does not see the hardware at all. In the Controller list drop-down, all items are greyed out. Maschine II isn't even listed.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, no change.
I have just realised that I don't have an installer for Maschine 2, so I can't try to install that either. It connects as a MIDI controller in Studio One, but I haven't learned how to use it that way yet.
Woould hugely appreciate help on this, Thx.

 

you can download a copy of Maschine 2 from sister site. Remove the new one you installed cleanly first. Use Revo if you have to.

Be careful when installing updates for NI hardware. You would expect a software update from the device manufacturer would be perfect, but not always so with NI.

I had assumed (wrongly it seems) that the Maschine 3 was an update to the software only : )

When you first install it, it will just install the NI software update. But the next time you run it and your device is connected, it will check to see if it "needs" to install a firmware update to the device. It does that, reboots the device, and it is maybe game over. One other thing, at least on Mac with the Komplete Kontrol keyboards that is a really nice surprise; is that the update installer will normally work just fine on your operating system version. But when you go to run the actual application, you might find out it wants an updated version of MacOS. Cute.
