The Addition of Scales, Chords and the Arpeggiator to the Keyboard Mode is definitely a reaction to Ableton's Push Controller. The rest is all eye and finger candy for Maschine Studio owners…

 

Well, that's what competitors do. That's what we sort of expect them to do: Match or exceed the other hardware/software sellers so we can have the same or better features too. If the Kontrol S-Series gets to be a hit and start cornering Ableton, I don't see how but they may end up feeling that way. Well then, they may call Akai again and have them design a competing keyboard sporting identical features.
It's like cars, you know, Toyota copies Honda which copies Hyundai and on and on we go... *yes*

BTW, Ableton have some copying to do themselves of Maschine, especially in the Browsing area. Eventually they will in future upgrade. Yup! and the copying can't stop and won't stop! I feel like I'm quoting P. Diddy
