In the video you can see martin making his song and using a cracked version of sylenth 1. So one more name for the list of "famous" producers using pirate versions. Maybe you dont know him but he made one of the most popular song of the EDM the past year. This is funny because he have some tracks with this names: keygen, registration code...

I can't understand how he show the pirate plugin if he know that they are recording him!!
The only thing you can have are problems...
Surely, he will ask forgiveness in a few days, as aoki did.

There is finally going to be a 64bit Sylenth update during the 1st half of 2014 (so says Lennar's site). When this happens, I am very seriously considering taking my copy of Sylenth1 legit, dropping the dough, and buying that sucker. I get more use out of S1 that most of my other plugs and I really enjoy using it.

My real comment is that if I can be expected to pay for it, why can't people actually making money from their music?!

I'm sure it's quite the opposite: he earned shitloads of money with it, so his motivation to improve his product has gone.

Personally, I'd love to see a lot of people buy Sylenth as it would spur development for the inevitable Sylenth2 lol. The only reason I haven't bought it so far is that I only buy 64 bit plugs (future proofing my plugin collection) from here on out. Can't wait for the 64 bit version! Love this synth!

Joke aside, i don't really like this guy. Hi did a selfmade video on his youtube channel (comments disabled), affecting the same track, where he talked (like here) an eternity about that petty clock - reverse effect and clearly circumshipped the one and only reason for the popularity of that track: the drop. During that video, which was sometimes live-streamed, spectators were able to ask questions via chat. There was one question regarding something about low frequencies. He began to read out the question loud and suddenly stopped - yeah without answering the question. He ignored it completely. Later in this video he talked about some "releases" he had 5 years ago (when he was twelve years old).

If you ask me: I don't believe, that this guy is the Mozart 2013. And, Mozart 2013 or not, infants should not drink "Moet & Chandon" Champagne *no*

 

He's just your average 17 year old, im in the same music school as him here in utrecht, everybody here uses cracked shit even the teachers, it's so 'normal' like downloading an mp3, people just don't think about it no more. Im the only one in my class who's even ever bought plugins haha.

And stop hating on him, he's just a kid who likes to make music and even tho we get lessons in logic 80% of my school keeps composing in fl studio, that stereotype fl hate comment is just garbage. It's as good (and for certaingenres even better) as any daw..

I'm not hating on him. But I think he should not appear using cracked plugins, because everybody knows he can afford them. And that's unfair with the developers. About the FL I totally agree with you, I also use it and in my opinion is just as useful as any other. *yes*

 

Lennar are not developers anymore, they are not developing anything. Not going into reasons why... But its funny how some of us here always go on about support developers bullshit, when in fact we only hope for new and updated software to get Kd. Just saying... Let he who is without sin support developers. And leave the kid alone, he is so cute

 

I wonder how much he'd like it if he didn't get paid anything for it. There's a difference between him and a regular kid who doesn't make any $$$ from music.

 

I guess it depends what videos you are watching or what people you know. Actually I know a lot of people who bought Sylenth, and I've seen nearly as many tutorials on Youtube with legit Sylenth than with a cracked one. And the one's with a cracked Sylenth are almost always purely waste of time - those people wouldn't buy anyways, while the real musicians in fact do.

Without concrete facts about his company's selling stats it's just speculation anyways. *yes*

 

Not naming names, but there are a good amount of HYPOCRISY in this thread.
Is he seriously late on not buying Sylenth1? YES! However, do we know that he has not made plans and somehow just has not get to sit on Lennar's site and make the purchase? No!

There are so many of us here with that same cracked Sylenth1 and we could easily be another Martin after a hit record. We have these plugins that we love and promise ourselves to purchase (once we have the funds) and sometimes we came to be in the position with more than enough funds, but for whatever reason, have not made the move to buy these plugins. Will we NOT or NEVER buy them, more likely we will, but we may do so or should I say remember and made ourselves aware after someone else point to us that "Yo, you have yet to buy this plugin"? pretty much after the mistake is made on going public with them. With that said, I can almost guarantee that if they make a new video with Garrix now, he will have a legit version. Why? Because enough people will make him aware or remind him that he is still using the cracked version based on someone or a few making that observation to him directly or online (well, just like we are doing here in this thread).

I maybe wrong on him. However, I can never sit here and say I know I'm right on him neither...
I side with the ones offering words of wisdom and encouragement on remember to buy when your money get up there. However, it's hard to swallow the comments from those quick to judge, when most of us are on the same boat and easily could make the same mistake.
