@Bulgroz may have had the IP of az squirreled away somewhere or could have looked it up via nslookup, whois, etc, BEFORE the replications erased the records. Trying a nslookup or a ping -a (without the hosts file pointer) produces nothing but "no host found" or "non-existant domain" at this time due to the fact there is a hold on the domain registration.

They are using cloudflare and probably been blocked. Solution is to NOT use cloudflare. They can find the hosting anyway since cloudflare is collaborating with law enforcements. There are some hosting companies who do not care about DMCA. Solution is to host on one of these.

It was only a matter of time, til this happens.

So many warez sites have been brought down during the last years.

Steindick and all the others funky music software companies surely weren´t amused, might loosing big money with their overprized software when az offered it for free.

 

There are other websites which are still online that someone might expect to find down also; but aren't. Just an observation, but I guess it wouldn't be the first time for that either.

Hum, maybe someone used ICANN and reported a wrong address. They just need to update the address and the block will be removed. Lawyers like to do this, easy, just fill a form at ICANN about the website\s address wrong, they send you a notice, if you do not answer, they block the domain. Easy fix. But takes time. Happened to me and it took about 1 week to get it sorted.
