    I'm looking for a cheap low noise solution, so would one of these practise drum pads work to close mic some drum/percussion patterns, that I could then convert to midi?

    As long as you can cope with the feel of a practice pad not being the same as the feel of the real drum head, yes; they also work for driving drum brains.

    I'm not really a drummer, I just want to tap in some variations at a low BPM, so I might give it a go :wink:
