Please help, anyone experienced the same issue. I believe this is a MAC OS problem with audio driver.


My Setup:

Mac Air M1 8gb Sequoia 15.3.1
Ableton Live 12
Polar 2 guitar box USB 2.0
Jackson Guitar , ESP Bass and Roland Cable basically in mint condition.


Problem I get is when I connect the Jackson Guitar to the box and load up Ableton Live 12 the audio is like a crackling sound and maybe it's a CPU issue but not sure.
This never happened with the OS before I think it was Monterrey.

I connected my ESP Bass and it's the same issue.
I disconnected the laptop and placed it in another part of the room thinking its a radio frequency issue but that didn't help either.

If any one has the same problem please give me some guidance.

Disconnect the Polar Guitarbox. Reboot your Mac.

Load some samples into Ableton and play them back. Or an old project you have in Ableton. If it plays back without a problem, your issue is this Guitarbox thing. Uninstall its software and reinstall it with a fresh copy of their software. See what results.

 

I did that and it's still making the same crackle noise, I even tried using a UAD Apollo twin and a Focusrite 2i2 box all the same issue.

Very strange, as this all started with Sequoia update.

 

Ok so I have solved the problem.

There is an icon in privacy and security that now has a Mic Mode.

When you are in your preferred DAW and you trying to record Guitar or Bass direct into your audio box it will make a crackle sound if you are under Voice Isolation setting.

To make sure you are recording correctly select the icon and click Standard and that should do it.
