    IMO, computers got to the point of overkill power some 5-10 odd years ago, at least for the home user. AFAIC, I could just keep buying used machines running Sierra or High till the day IO croak. (knock on wood) hehe

    BTW, what's this thing I've seen about Apple going to another type of processor in a few years or something or is that just idle threat talk to Intel?

    it depends what needs to be done, recording doesn't need any power so anything will work.
    i hope one day i can say the same about cpu power (overkill), I'm fine with what we have now, but still a long way to go :hillbilly:

    for the proprietary chips in macs: i don't think we will see this any time soon, but its definitely coming, y

    Can you go to high Sierra? I upgraded my mac last year from 2011 to a 2017 model. the 2011 couldn't go to high Sierra. well it would but it would crash so hard that it wasn't worth it. rolled it back to sierra.

    high sierra has the same compatibility list as sierra
