So my mid 2012 MacBook Pro has failed me. My logic board is done. It was the best 13" model at the time, with 2.9ghz i7. I had after market upgraded to a 512 gb ssd and 16gb ram. i would get it fixed from Apple but I have a slight crack in my screen so it'd have to be fixed in order them to fix the inside. 750$ .. What should I do, get it fixed or buy a used MacBook. I've done a lot of research and I'm just not sure on which model I really don't want to spend more than 1000$. I want something of the same speed and storage space. Is it a bad idea to get another 2012. Any ideas?

you really can't replace the screen yourself? I never had a MacBook..so it may be impossible.. if so , pretty bogus..
so many simple things that can be addressed by the user, with some initiative, blocked by Apphole.. I mean Apple

I mostly use Windows laptops..that you can replace a lot of components.

What issues are you having to make you think you need a new logic board?

I'd wait anyhow as the new releases should push the older still capable ones down in price.
