if you do not need a laptop I would price out a used garbage can Mac Pro intel. they aren't that big and you can have much more memory.

I didn't need one at the time nor ever had one, when I got my first one, a 2015, I was so happy for some reason.
When I switched to the M1, uff, everything was so snappy, I have like 100 chrome tabs open they react so fast when I switch over them.
Then sadness came because almost nothing was M1 ready.
Had to wait more than a year for Softube go M1.
But I feel right now is a good time to change or at least have the alternative.
So, if you end up having one in a year, things will be even better. Prob we will get even better performance Macs.
( I skipped the M2 altogether).
