    Okay ...

I've read somewhere that people have managed to install 8Gbs of RAM on their Macbooks .
now I'd like to be sure, before I spend any more of cash on this old and rusty laptop o 'mine / Macbook (NOT Pro !!!) 13-Inch, Mid 2009.

And furthermore will there be any increase performance-wise for example with the use of Avid's Pro Tools 10 / 11 or Cockos REAPER
(I mean by running many simultaenous AAXs / Audio Units / VSTs) .

OWC (a popular RAM vendor for Macs) tests thoroughly.

Your Mid-2009 White Macbook 13" 2.13GHz (non-Pro) takes up to 6GB, not 8GB (4GB official, per Apple). I read reports of a few people being successful with 8GB, but at the expense of fan noise (which may point to a heat problem!). Others couldn't even get it to boot with 8GB.

This is specifically for the 2.13GHz model:

$135. That seems expensive compared to the 16GB I put in my 2012 15" MBP for $140. But I looked around and didn't see it cheaper.

Performance: I don't use the apps you listed, but most apps will run smoother.
